No.  I went to Churchill Downs in September.  Those horses are treated VERY well.

I don't know a lot about this issue, but from the remnants I've heard, the issue concerns the cruel treatment of the horses and not the issue of captivity.

However, I reject your premise that horse racing is designed to make us "appreciate them to their full extent."

And the way you phrased the question is a bit bizarre:  You love them in nature, and you love them in captivity?

Despite indulging this question, I agree with Karen Climer's observation of this being another social rant unrelated to real estate.    PETA does some good and some bad things, but are we really going to have this discussion?

Oh good, another social issue rant completely unrelated to real estate that is disguised as a question.

Home is where the hearth is.

PETA is not responsible for the best interests of animal lovers, rather their responsibility lies with the actual animals themselves.

To suggest that somehow PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is working against those interests is patently ridiculous.

PETA is a bogus bullshit grift! And I'd just like to SEE them try to end horse racing which is a gazongagillion dollar industry.

Horse racing has been around too long to change. It is entrenched in some societies. At least in England they stopped fox hunting.

Check out the prices on some of those horses.

The peta people often neglect to notice that most domesticated animals depend on their relationship with humans and enjoy most of the activities that they are involved in.
