I let them on my computer when I need help Richie Alan Naggar because I want the issue fixed fast.
1984 is here and never going away - your privacy was surrendered with your GPS, smart home, mobile phone and technology at large. Right Said Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate is correct in his statement.
I really don't care though, their snooping does not affect my life one bit. I've nothing to hide so, my attitude is let them waste their time watching me live my good life. Why waste time worrying about it, there are 332,403,650 people in the USA, how much time are they truly spending on me?
They get the short end of that stick that resides up their...😮😝

That question was just a formality, Richie.
They are already inside your computer. So is the NSA, CIA, FBI, Mossad, KGB, Chi-Coms, Facebook, and God-knows-who-else.
And, they are watching your doorbell camera (they know who comes to your house). They know when your garage door goes up and down. They know what temperature your "smart thermostat" is set to. They recognize your face when you walk into a retail store (facial recognition technology), they know where you drive and when. Your bank accounts and credit cards are wide open to IRS, Homeland Security, and a host of other 3-Letter Federal agencies.
Both sides of any USPS mail (packages or letters) are photographed and uploaded (you can even see it under "Informed Delivery" on your USPS.com account).
Welcome to 1984!

LOL - that Pandora's Box has been around for a very long time. And not just from the use of the PC, you will find that with Cable, Alarms, TV, Phones, Bank Accounts and most anything especially with the use of Blue Tooth etc!

What Thomas J. Nelson, REALTOR ® e-Pro CRS RCS-D Vets and Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate said. When I have computer issues I do let the techies remote in BUT they are with FAR tech helpline so it's less scary. What bothers me is when I look at the programs on my computer and see things I don't recognize, same with the list of apps. And I hate that when I make or take calls on my iPhone that there is an orange light indicating that the microphone is in use, no idea what that's about but it seems intrusive. Welcome to the new normal...

I have done it a few times & have agreed. It is distressing but I still feel like I am in control - just disconnect from the internet. They have other options where you just let a repair app scan & repair your program. I always use those rather than calling customer service.

My nephew is a CTO, he uses SOS Splashtop to remotely help hundreds of employees . . . having it 'on your computer' does not mean they can stick their nose in your business. You have to grant them access and once the session is over, they must once again be granted access to return.
Are we vulnerable to NSA, Google, Metamucil and other privacy-stealers? YEP but remote assistance on your computer is not sinister, if you indeed need help and ask for it. They can help you much easier if they can just see what the hell you're talking about.

I agree with the statements already made ... there is no privacy anymore. If I have an issue that needs to be fixed I just say yes! We are already past the point of no return. I am not ashamed of my life and so I also have nothing to hide. Plus, they know anyway!

I always give a hard NO response when asked to take control of my PC unless it is my local computer gurus.
Otherwise .... Hell NO you cannot take access to my PC.
As others mention, everything else we say, do, and think is watched, tracked, and monitored as our next move is predicted.

The people to whom I have granted on-line access to my computer worry me not at all. In fact, I don't worry about the Big Brother type intruders whom many allege reside in my computer. If what there find there excites them, they live very boring lives.

I have had several companies access my computer including Geek Squad, Dell Computer and Verizon. I figure they are bonded and there's a record of their entry. I know of many people including Realtors that wouldn't do things online. They are far behind me technologically today.

I've always been asked to enter a code. They can't enter without that code on my end. Our local computer guru fixes minor things for us all the time without packing it up or charging a service call. But we do know him.
