In the past, we have golfed with my husband's father and had a BBQ afterwards and also golfed with our boys while they were growing up would eat a nice meal in my husband's favorite wild game restaurant. 

We Silobrated my husband's birthday and Father's Day last night, so it will be a day of clean up and relaxing afterwards.

Our Father was not one for golf or bbq, but instead a quiet family dinner at our cottage.  He wasn't in to swimming or boating but made sure all 7 kids could swim and water ski and operate our boats.  He's been gone since 2001 and my husband and I do not have children so Father's Day is no longer celebrated in our home.

We've done different things over the years. Sometimes we'd go out on the boat. Our kids live out of state now. My husband likes to be efficient with his time. This year we went to dinner on Saturday night. We also went to see Top Gun Maverick Saturday only because the power had been out since Friday evening due to a storm. Sunday we went to lunch. I asked him what he really wanted to do. He said he really wanted to get his chores done and do some work. Lol! He likes to work on things and feel like it is a productive day.

Not in my world! The thought of my mom fixing BBQ did not exist even in a dream world. My Dad, might have worked on Father's Day until noon or 2:00 at his body shop. I remember helping him many times. He did to play golf and I did not learn until my 20's!

I got calls and texts from all the kids as I was traveling this weekend.

I enjoy BBQing. I am partial to rotisserie, slow cooking with indirect heat. This produces a meat bathed in its own juices, seared on the outside tender inside and then the serving of it followed by the eating. I usually do every Sunday but also indulge on a whim too. SIDE NOTE: When we all went to the beach with a large family group, I always left a little early, went home, prepared French fries (ketchup) and juicy burgers (onions) for starving coming back from the beach people. Today, it is still talked about as a treat & driven by love.

Yes Dad did go golfing on Fathers Day & then we had something on the grill. My dad never cooked.

Not in my family Will.  It was always a quiet celebration at home.

My father was a disabled veteran ... so no golf or other sports activities ... just eating a meal at home and we would bake his favorite coconut cake. 

Nope. I don remember anything like that remember anything and have never done any special gathering for Father's Day 

Nope! I am Father to my family Will Hamm and that is who I want to spend Fathers Day with. BTW I had a great one yesterday. Hope all fathers did.
