Never liked or "got" the title change; to me it's confusing since there are 7 "teenths" per month and therefore the name doesn't signify a specific date immediately, which almost sends the opposite message of it's purpose-creating confusion not awareness. It should have been left Emancipation Day or Freedom Day as it was occasionally called (if I get a vote).

Messages (and days of remembrance) need to be clear, their purpose and their goals obvious on this level e.g. National. I think the benefactors have been failed by this poor choice of title-but I digress.

Next Sunday is indeed Father's Day, it's clear, and the goal and purpose is obvious - no guesswork...it means leave me be, I'm playing golf. 😆

Let's pray that we do not lose our Freedom! 

I for one have worked all my little life to reach a point where every day is Father's Day. It starts with me. My children have been told: I don't need anything, nor am I in want. If you wish to celebrate, then do so.

Juneteenth is simply a new name for Emancipation Day.

I will be celebrating my husband on Father's Day but then he is honored and loved every day of the year!

I didn't. I think Juneteenth is worth celebrating. I'll be celebrating my husband on June 18th when I take him to dinner.

Oh Boy! Actually I could care less as my children will be focusing on their dad (me) and not give a rat's rear about juneteenth Tony Lewis .

Seems confusing to have two celebrations on the same day for very different purposes.

But, then, I guess there is a lot to celebrate.

It is also National BSD Day. I bet you have to look that one up.
