I know nothing about real estate in any overseas market.

I have a friend who sold her flat in London a few years ago and escaped to the coast.  Market was in-line with ours back then (crazy).  Beyond that, no clue.

I have no idea about markets over seas, but would be interest to hear what they are like.

The only markets I casually follow from conversation not research across our borders is Canada and Costa Rica because I have REALTOR friends there. CR is experiencing a boom. Canada is too big to comment on as a whole, but my Vancouver friends indicated their market was similar to ours but the US seemed to be going through the paces first with them experiencing a trailing effect.

The catch to owning/renting/buying/selling & investing outside the U.S? One must know the laws of the target property/area/state or country. What we take for granted here may not apply elsewhere.
