Hello Raymond,  I believe non-member comments were disabled a couple of years ago during one of the spammer blitzes that were leaving 100s of comments on posts.  I just tested on your post and another member's post and I was prompted to either Log In or Join Now if I wanted to comment.

I think I have had a non-member comment, but it has only happened a couple of times, very rare for me to see that on my blog unless it is spam.

I do remember an inundation of spammers and keeping to members only does keep out most of them off of ActiveRain, Raymond.

I wonder how other blog sites are able to allow comments without all of the spam problems or do they just endure it?  It seems to me that allowing interactions with the public would engage them.  I appreciate all of the responses.  Thank you!
