Hometown & Local Always!

Locals refer me business back, national companies do not. Use your networking sense. Unless you're into one way relationships?

I prefer to use local vendors but only if they up to my quality of service. After all, when I lay my head down to sleep, it's important to know that I did my best, for both sellers and buyers, bar none.

I like the response of John Meussner.

I want to deliver the best experience to my client. I would like to use a local business but only if the alternative provider is not clearly better. It is my client for whom I am working, not just a local business whom I would like to support.

I focus 100% on quality and service.  If a local business is great, nothing wrong with using them even if the cost is a little higher.  If a local business is terrible, I don't use them.

I try to use local. If someone really great can do the work better than my local contacts, then I would consider them.

Hello Karen Climer I prefer work with local vendors. There are good national internet companies too.

Depends on the service.  Some are local, some regional, some national, some in-house.  It's about who can get me what I want, at a good price I'm willing to pay and have it delivered on time and provides the most value.

I would have always said local but now it sometimes doesn't work out that way. Printers in general - out of state might do better work & not charge for shipping which is the biggest $$$ of the whole project.

I can go to Best Buy and purchase stuff made in China for $100 or go to AliExpress and buy the same thing for $40 if I willing to wait 2 wweks. Yep, that all the time it takes.
Same applies to HomeDepot, Wallymart and the other boxes.
Now when the content is not originated in China, the locallity is expremely important. What each of us did during lock down for local business is paying  back big-time now.
I am engaged in a market study right now regarding how much the public is willing to spend EXTRA for very obvious, environmentally beneficial, things?  It will be an exercise to confirm if 'GREEN' or "LOCALITY" or local sourced are of such value, the public will pay EXTRA.
With escalating costs for EVERYTHING, this will be a real litmus test.

   Hi, Karen.

Some years ago I ate in the same restaurant three or four times per week.  The manager bought a house; I was his broker.  His cousin bought a house, I was again the broker.  They did a 20-year lease for a new restaurant site; he called me in again.

But during that same "era", I ate at another restaurant several times per week.  That owner was friendly, cordial, made sure the meals were good... but he bought his house from "The agent on the sign in the yard."  I didn't hesitate to express my disappointment.

Reciprocity is what I am driving at.  Is the local printer going to give me business, or refer me business... or will I get the same results going to Zazzle or VistaPrint?  What about the web design company that I used for my Homeowners' Association?  They didn't ask for my help when it came to real estate.

Local merchants and vendors who say "Shop Local" need to do the same.

Local naturally and an exception would be a franchise or locals are not available etc. I problem solve and will get it done regardless

Depends on how the product is delivered and how it is priced.

Internet and other utilities are national companies with local offices.

Printing and signs are ordered from national companies that offer much better pricing and speed than we can get locally.

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

It's all about the quality and the customer service for me. If the local vender is better in both regards, I MUCH prefer to use them.

However, in some cases, the local and the internet vendors are similar (in quality & service) and the internet provider's cost is considerably less. In those instances, I will go with the internet provider.
