Blog Hogs have long been a part of the ActiveRain barnyard (err, I mean community).  Others have asked them to moooove on but it seems what they are doing, while annoying, is not against current AR rules.

I do not understand the 'end game'. He is duplicating the MLS for a certain town but I don't get the benefit. Just like the last spammer that we had. They told him to get his own platform for his listings - maybe this guy needs to be told the same thing.

I don't own this resource, has to come from the higher ups.

The policy regarding number of posts per day is under review by management.  Until there is an announced change, there is no violation to publish hundreds of market reports.  Annoying to many?  Of course.

In the interim, just change the Blog Roll view to FOLLOWING.  You may lose visibility to new members you don't subscribe to, but you also lose visibility to the mass bloggers.

In searching for my weekly posts I do have to go through a lot of posts from serial bloggers. I ignore them. As for reading only the posts of those you follow which is a nice idea that means that there will be some posts - good ones- that you might miss

There were at least 3 different ones this morning... Bashe, Lotte, and Case. It is up over 40 pages of blogroll now!  There are a few of the regulars in between but who's going to even find them in that mess?

The discussion leads to what is the purpose of Active Rain. Is it:


1. To have a place where members can read each others posts


2. To have a source where the public can find information on a specific subject that are led to Active Rain through outside search engines like Google, Twitter, Facebook, Linked in etc


I personally do not enjoy looking at recent posts to see hundreds of similar market report posts. However, the larger public good is probably to find information on a specific subject that leads them to Active Rain.


I also like to look at new writers and not just the old writers that have been Active Rain members for years that I am following. Yes...I like reading those, but also enjoy reading thoughtful writers that are relatively new but where their posts are buried in an avalanche of hundreds of "market reports".

Perhaps an option would be a specific place (black hole) to place redundant market reports from those serial robot bloggers (disrespectful cadgers). I stopped going to the blog roll after finding a poster who had posted with few changes 180 times...scroll...scroll...

Wayne, you can sort through the posts on the menu at the top of the page by topic, posted date, type and sort. I check following or featured then there is no going through pages and pages of market reports.
