This is a civil matter. The NAR has no role in discipline. The legal system will take care of it. Let's hope the legal system gets it right and she goes to jail. At that point, her license status should no longer be an issue.

People are losing their $hit all around the globe, in all professions. I do not see this as a reflection on the profession. I see it as one person in the process of losing their mind over all else that is happening in the world.  Her behavior by no means defines me personally or professionally.

In December 2021, the in-flight crews of major airlines were sick of this $#!^ and so hundreds decided to call in sick this month in protest and left Christmas flights understaffed and forced to cancel (hundreds of flights around Christmas).

They were protesting the maskless-jackasses, the tantrums, the violence and utter juvenile disrespect they're so fed up with. I applaud them.

I hope the ruined Christmas travel plans woke people up. Straighten up and fly right or stay off the planes. The rest of us do not want your bull$#*& onboard.

So what that the media and her are stating she's a realtor.  NAR has no place in this legal situation.   As for the gal, totally disgusting behavior.  Ridiculous. As Margaret Rome Baltimore 410-530-2400 would say You can't make chicken salad out of chicken poop.  We made a conscious choice NOT to fly anywhere over the holidays and I'm glad we did with crazy folks out there plus thousands or cancellations.

Seriously, she should be in JAIL.

NO ONE has ever stood her down before, CLEARLY.

Karma time for Karen The Spitter! (How fkn DARE SHE!)

And to your question, yes, NAR needs to raise its standards for behavior. Not that I expect them to.

Why would/should NAR get involved at all?  She wasn't conducting real estate at the time, she was a private citizen behaving badly.

Her profession (or lack of professionalism) has no bearing at all, and the associations that she hold memberships in should have nothing to do with it.

Absolutely.  Only those dues paying agents may use the term "Realtor".  IT is amazing how many people think of the term as a generic term for anybody who sells real estate.

Hi Fred... the legal system will deal with her, as it should. Here in NC this could pose an issue in her keeping her license, but not sure why NAR would have a role in it. Of course, they might be referring to her as a Realtor, when she's nothing of the sort... simply an agent. She was also cited for DUI... that could also be enough in NC not to renew a license.

well it's like this..... an assault on an airline is a federal crime.  I don't know about other states, but it's fairly difficult to get a real estate license in my state or keep one if you're convicted of a felony.

If she is not a REALTOR, NAR cannot discipline her. I think she has a bigger legal problem than NAR could bring to her, in any event.

I'm sure there are a lot bigger fish to fry for NAR than this.

Have to update my answer here Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate.  This article gives a much better intro to who she is... and her license is listed in it as having expired in 2017.

The other article forgot to mention she was a Baywatch star, former Playboy model, and once was on the greatest show ever made... Married with Children!  Can I get a Woah Bundy?

Yes, this woman has some issues for sure and I imagine will have consequences. Her behavior was shocking and out of control. However, we're only seeing where the person started the video. What happened before they began the video? The man doesn't seem that helpless nor innocent. I think there's more to the story.

She should receive a consequence and he should be investigated too.

I would need more info to give an opinion to whether she should be disciplined as a Realtor or licensee. I do think people are posting that info in hopes of her losing her job which just gives more power to people with a mob mentality.

I don't see where she violated the Code of Ethics.  In order for NAR to sanction her, you have to be able to quote the Standard from the Code that she violated.

Obviously, this is egregious behavior that violates most people's idea of civility.  But I don't see how NAR can sanction her.

If NAR is a 'cancel culture' advocate (it is) then action is coming.
However, this is OVERREACH. Overreach is no longer forbidden.
No real estate was being conducted and I bet she was NOT wearing a NAR pin or a real estate agent badge. So NAR should keep their butt OUT.
Delta, like Facebook, goes out of their way to enrage the consumer. Reduced seating space with no leg room, 450 pounders overflowing from the adjacent seat, forward seat reclined, toddler reaching over the seat, and all this after the groping from TSA and the cancelled flights and long lines.
Then all it takes is a coughing old man, (old people cough because they are old), a traveler riding on their last nerve and the fun begins.
But as in all things, BLAME THE USER.
Sure, she should have responded differently.

However, this is not a NAR issue, unless they are flying the cancel culture flag and then this becomes irresistible.  Cancel culture would look unfavorably on this comment.
Now if found GUILTY of a FELONY, then NAR may have some reason to act, but is that not the role of the STATE LICENSING BOARD?

I don't think it's NAR jurisdiction to mete out any disciplinary action, as the incident, however hideous, was not related to real estate. It almost sounds a bit like a big publicity stunt, or maybe Delta Karen is just a very disturbed person.

Unfortunately the legal process must play out. Once complete, once found guilty, she must report it to FREC. And FREC can fine, suspend or revoke her license depending on the statutes.

No.  She would have to self-report for any felonious behavior in our state to the licensing board.  But NAR getting involved when it wasn't reported, I don't care for that.  The free market will sort this out, as it should everything.

I can’t say I see the basis of NAR intervening in this matter. Hopefully, there won’t be a broker willing to accept her affiliation, but if she produces we all know someone will onboard her.

I mean ... only if NAR wants to start disciplining every agent thats out there being an idiot.

NAR is so lax on enforcement of anything, I have no faith in even jumping through the hoops to report bad behavior because nothing gets done.

I literally had an agent reach out through a social network platform, offer money in a private message for referrals (about as clear and blatant a RESPA violation as you can get), and when reporting it, the local Realtor board in the bay area did nothing.  So if blatantly unethical things are let go, bad behavior on an airplane and being a rude idiot can also be let go.

If NAR and local Realtor associations enforced anything, it would clean up the industry, but then NAR and local Realtor associations would have less dues coming their way, so the industry will continue to have a slimy reputation, because it's a fact there are many slimy people operating in it.
