Seriously? You won't rent to me because I eat meat? Wouldn't that be discrimination against non-vegetarians? In a state like California, I could probably win that lawsuit for a settlement of a lot more than $200. 🤣

Maybe if the offer was @$210.00/month, but $200.00 is much too low (everything is negotiable, correct?).  I just wonder how it would be enforced...

There is a MOVEMENT that is behind the Green New Deal that identifyes Cows as a major emitter of greenhouse gasses. The intent it to make animal protien too expensive that only the 1% will enjoy it.
For example CA recently passed the 'free range pig' reguirement that will push the price of bacon to above $10 a pound.
In the instance you mention, I would consult my attorney, agree to the lease and let the game begin.

It can be done and afterall, there are many meat substitutes. So the question really is: Is it worth it? Just out of curiosity though, I would love to go through the landlords trash bin and see what they are eating....

I eat cows.  Cows eat a plant-based diet.  Plants are vegetables.

Since I am eating what is essentially re-processed vegetables, that makes me a vegetarian.

As someone who haven't eat  meat for decades and surrounded by so many vegans ~ I see no issues with that. I know a man who has been a vegan most of his life and there is no shred of animal product in his Montecito house( even his fancy car was custom ordered to have vegan leather. So, I would not be surprised about such intensive in SoCal:)
