Even as a child, I wasn't a big fan of Halloween but have enjoyed the creativity shown by some over the years in home decorating and costume design.  

Tootsie rolls have always been my favorite and I also liked the ones that came in different flavors, the vanilla one especially.

I wasn't fussy as long as it was wrapped. Time to sort when the collecting was done.

I don't really remember. But I'll share this.

Pam & I look forward to seeing the kids and their costumes but noticed they just stand at the door and don't say "Trick or Treat". I would tell them they need to say Trick or Treat. After they did  I'd say TRICK! They didn't know what to do until one bright 9-year-old girl said "You want a Trick?" I replied "Yes" Her retort was " I'll show you a trick. Hand me that candy bar and I'll show you how it disappears into my bag!" Well, that shut my mouth...lol, Pam howled...lol We gave everyone 2 candy bars

I've never been a big fan of Halloween. When we were young and went trick or treating, we were only allowed to keep a certain amount of candy - my parents took the rest and did something with it, I'm not sure what. I don't remember what I kept.

I do not remember. Yet I know it had to be the chocolate variety.

The hard sour candies were not for me. 

I was never a big fan of trick or treating.  We lived in the country and things were different back then.

Anything chocolate suited me just fine! I always seemed to end up with less candy than I thought...no doubt due to my parents.

Growing up behind the Wall, we didn't have nor knew about Halloween. My first time participating was in the early 90s when I lived in Merrimack, NH! Also, the first time discovering Reese's. I may or may not have had an addiction to it.. until I developed a dairy allergy that is. 

We did celebrate "Fasching" in February and got to dress up and eat lots of "Pfannkuchen" which are kind of like donuts but better. These were jelly-filled unless you got the surprise one - the secret ingredient was often mustard or ketchup. Ewww, not a tasty combo! 

It was an overwhelming experience of the most pleasant kind to come home the night of Halloween and empty out the candy-bag collected. Deciding what candy to trade or eat and when... stood out for me. Chocolate covered marshmallow anything was my preference followed by any candy collected. I do not remember NOT liking anything

I loved it .... the fact that we could run around in the dark til 8 or so was a treat. In those days, no worries of someone trying to hurt you. 

Just pillowcases full of candy bars.

We were not allowed to keep all our candy, but gave away all the chocolate anyway.

I always loved Paydays, 100Grands, and Snickers.  I would trade away Milky Ways & 3 Musketeers all day long

Hershey bars or Hershey Kisses or M&Ms were and still are my favorites.

Back when you could still do this, our neighbor down the street gave out the best homemade cookies!!!!  We headed to his house first. Other than that, it would have been anything chocolate. 

It was anything chocolate.  Never cared for the hard candies, but a Baby Ruth or a Snickers - those were great!

I do not recall any favorites. Far too long ago. I was a big eater and not too selective.

Was not a fan of this occasion back then and still am not out canvasing the neighborhood begging for candy.

Couldn't do that in today's world!

The little chocolate bars!  Hardly ever got those.  Or popcorn balls were pretty cool too.  I suppose these days they wouldn't be allowed unless you knew who made them.

I really liked Money growing up but today it's Heath Bar

We had a similar lady.... we called her the "cupcake lady" because she handed out home made cupcakes.  It was always my favorite stop and yes, we all had to come out from behind our masks so she'd know who we were.

I liked Mike and Ike, Dots and tootsie rolls, my brothers would trade 3 for one because they only wanted chocolate.

I was never big on sweets, and the kind of chocolate I liked was too expensive for people to give out on mass.  Halloween was not something  important in my life.  A

I liked the Necco candy and Good and Plenty.

Chocolate! and money! I would trade my sisters other candy for these items.  Oddly enough, we had a lot of people give dollar bills and change along with candy. As for today, I look forward to having a mounds bar or butter finger as an adult.
