Hi Kat....I would say to keep the video to less than 45 seconds and present it as if you were talking to someone on a particular subject that you are familiar with. In the video refer to your website page or email if the video is in an email or to a blog that has more information. Use the video to smile and attract interested parties to the written material. Jeff

I often use a teleprompter program on an Ipad. We have an in-office studio here at the brokerage complete with green screen and teleprompter, but we discourage most agents from using it because it takes practice not to look like you are reading a script.

Getting results w/ knowledge & know-how!

This topic comes up a lot at our meetings and the feedback is the same... "Just do it".  The more "real" you are, the better it'll be.  Don't worry about being perfect.  Be you! Don't be scripted.  Keep it short and sweet.  I use video here and there (need to do more!) & generally just wait for a topic to "inspire" me. I'm typically parked in my driveway when I do them.  lol  I also keep a notebook of topics that I think of but don't end up doing a video on for whatever reason (usually in a rush so don't take the time to do it).  I'm not perfect and there are others in my market who do it better but I've received good feedback so encourage you to check out my facebook business page.... Search Brenda Mayette, Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.  Don't overthink it.  Just do it!  :)

I know that feeling. When the camera is on my brain freezes.  HA - among the many reasons I am no on camera with Zoom calls.

What I feel would work for me is handling it like a Q & A.  When I am talking naturally, like I am on the phone with someone, it just flows.

How to do that, trial and error.  The more natural it looks the better.

I see people videotaping their podcast and I see them looking at their notes and the camera.  They make it work and it feels natural to me.

I wouldn't be too concerned about covering everything, but a teleprompter apps might be the solution. See what Mel Ahrens, MBA, Kelly Right Real Estate suggests (I've not use one so can't recommend one). Are you going to write blog articles as well to supplement?

Ron's solution is to not be on camera, and add the script and music to the scenery rather than be on camera.  We have been to studio filming and they usually have a big board with the words that are read off a screen.  The news are done that way.  A

Frequently ask questions... take your top ten... the next video another list in the series. Write them down, list them out and rehearsh the answers. You can hang the list from the side of your lens hood and while wrapping up number three, you glance and know the next 5,6,7,8 dance step to run the numbers.

You could use a teleprompter but you don't want to read to the audience... you know your stuff, talk to them like it is just you and your best friend on the other end. Just provide the answers you do all the time with buyers and sellers in your day to day job Kat Palmiotti . You don't have a script to answer those questions right?

"Hi, I'm your house Kat, there you have it. The top ten questions asked by home buyers purchasing a house in my drop dead gorgeous location in Montana... " or "that I get quizzed by sellers listing their home" or "when what things do you do for fun in your hometown Kat?" comes up from new out of town real estate buyers..

Whatever the list, talk about what you know in your unique area that may not apply everywhere in the country. Talking head alone videos waste the "show" in the "tell" unless you have some B roll to tie in to the experience. Set two cameras up if you can so you alternate the angles to break up the questions.

How to videos really get SEO attention too if you wire them correctly. Put time stamps with the link to the exact locations in the video helps save viewer's time. Give them the one by one answers in the comment section down below SHOW MORE region. Good luck.

I think that app seems like a great idea. I know the TV people just read it off their phone & don't really care if anyone sees them reading it.

First, I'll say I'm fundamentally against telepromting for most cases because if it comes off as reading, I find it very off-putting. I'd much rather be listening to somebody talking to me in natural conversation. That doesn't mean you can't have an outline of main points off to the side to not forget anything.
Teleprompters are a glass pane in front of the lens recording. This is because if you are looking anywhere but straight into the lens, it is a shortcoming.
So this means that if you have an iphone/ipad as the source of the script reflecting into the glass, you typically have a DSLR or equivalent camera attached to behind the telepromter to record. There may be teleprompters where you have two i-devices connected (one for script, one for recording) but I'm not sure, you'd have to search.
Meanwhile, I just encounterd a phone app that shows the script on the side of the phone screen while recording you with the same phone. That's intriguing as on option. You can check out the video here: teleprompter app
Looking forward to seeing Kat's videos :)

I have done and still do many presentations. Reading from a script doesn't really work for me. I use outlines and key words. Try it  Kat - you'll remember what to say!

Either one should get the job done for youl
As so many have said the best results come from bullet points that allow you to expand extemporaneously. Please be keenly aware of the PERFECTION of imperfection. Much like the speaker who wads the notes and tosses them on the floor. That is when you know something good is about to happen. That is when the audience knows the speaker is aware the needs of the audience does not align with the notes. Who does not like being valued in that way?

I think leaving something out and making a follow up is better than reading from a script.
