Nicholas Crane could probably answer this better than I can since he keeps up to date on all the building codes.

I think that they serve different purposes, and the aav is not a replacement for your traditional vent pipes, rather it is used more locally for specific purposes like an island sink or dishwasher.

Depends what you have to do on remodel. In order to put in a window, you might have to get rid of that regular pipe & put in Studor. Remove a wall, etc.

I am sure that This Old House has a show on this.

No experience with it, but I would think it's a great option for new construction. Cut down on number of holes in roof and amount of PVC installed.

It seems to be a very clever technology, plus it's very easy to get to it, in case a repair is needed.

I am working with a 40 year plumbing master and I amazed and satisfied by his answering of questions and giving of opinions. As to yours? I don't know

I'd be reluctant to cut a hole in a new roof, but tried and true works best.

Zero experience, everything is up through the roof out here.  Just easier that way I guess.

Sometimes you have to admit to being clueless and turn to those with experience and knowledge.
