Not really a big fan of the designations.  and obtw  you might take a second look at your profile, your spell check used and alternate spelling.  

I had it, but didn't renew. Most people don't know what SRES means. I don't target any age group. They did have 4 post cards designs for SRES that I tested, and I got 1 listing from mailing them, but agents will probably do just as well without the SRES designation.

I happen to also think that Alphabet Soup is confusing to the public at large.  The best marketing idea is to know your market inside out.  For this you have to do research as each market is unique...A

My take on designations ... unless one truly needs help and direction with how to work with seniors, it may be helpful to get the "training". 

Joe Q. Public does not know what the alphabet soup of designations means so for marketing purposes ... IMHO, it is meaningless. 

I did not think it worthwhile or valuable. In fact, might be a slight to the chin for seniors. We need accredition to help them?

Thank you for asking! I just got my Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) last week. I am so excited!

I'm an SRES - but I haven't been specifically marketing to seniors. I do a post on a monthly basis about Senior related issues, but that's the extent of it. "Seniors" are 50+ in the definition of that designation - so almost everyone I talk to anyway is in that bucket. :-)

I don't have the designation but being CRE I wouldn't.

HOWEVER I might offer up that WE are seniors (well I am, anyway!)

so market to us like anyone else . . . use large print.

My EYES are definitely seniors! LOL

Never pursued it. I did take two of the 3 courses for the CAPS designation from Steve Hoffacker through the National Association of Homebuilders. They were worthwhile.

I would spend the time and money elsewhere rather than paying for a few letters than clients will never care about.

I do not have SRES but I used to host free seminars at my local senior center, bank and golf course as a way meeting seniors - I so enjoy serving.

I have not, but have worked with many seniors.   

I got the SRES designation and though it has not brought business my way, I have increased the knowledge base.
