Zillow has been good to me in the past but at great expense.  Now I've weaned myself away from them, have built my own pipeline.  The real estate market is just booming, inventory is low here, I just don't even think about them.

Just this week? Over the last few they've been in the news all the time. It's the ShowingTime thing I believe.

RM HQ is going to state their position to us all on Monday. We moved away from DotLoop for this reason a few years ago.

Zillow is purchasing Showingtime. Many agents populate Showingtime with records of client data. Zillow is now a brokerage. So now a competing brokerage has just purchased your client data.

I know some did go a bit over the top. I haven't paid attention to zillow from the start and that is not my source of business.  I do think our MLs will be looking into other scheduling programs.  Which is probably a wise idea.

Please supply more data regarding FREAK OUT.
Some folks do not like doing business with Zdevil.

Others don't like having there choices taken away without their input.
And some will FREAK OUT by your judgemental 'they don't preform at a high level' comment.
There is lots of FREAKING OUT going on but what you actually are referring to is unclear.
'Zdevil can not touch you' if they are embedded in your MLS is a nauive statement.

I believe it's over showing time and the fact that zillow the company can see what listings are being shown when and somehow give zillow the brokerage an advantage.  I see no need to freak our.

I spent some time with our local MLS director recently to see what kind of information showing time collects.  It was amazing how detailed and useful it could be. Showing time saves my a bunch of time right now.  A goal, which is getting harder and harder to do today, is to have and keep  more control over all aspects of my business. Not sure it is necessary or will be easy to take that control away from showing time but it is certainly something that needs to be investigated.

The concern about their purchase of showing time is no different than Gary Keller's concern over their purchase of DotLoop.  Having access to client information and what zillow's end goals seem to be.
