Nothing to really ad other than one listing of mine had a super Japanese toilet that was like $700.

I'll tell you that in the winter the park districts take off the toilet seats cause the woodchucks eat them.

Oh my heavens, Fred Griffin Tallahassee Real Estate

Now, this is a loaded question.  Some might think it is a load of 💩

Soft self-closing seats for sure. Lever handles. White seems to be the norm.  Low flush is a must in CA.

Comfort height still seems to be an option that buyers can choose when building... not a standard option for the most part. I see button and lever flushers -- depends on the builder. Same for wood versus plastic seats -- depends on builder and depends on price point of home. I think most have water saving features these days.

In resale homes don't see lid covers, rugs around the toilet or shelves over the toilet much. Of course, I do tell my clients to remove those for photos and showings so maybe that's why I don't see much of them. Shelving I tend to see only in smaller homes where the bathrooms might be smaller.

Please no push button! My nails are too long! LOL

I haven't been in a new-build lately, although I'm about to embark. So I will update this.

I have had air flush toilets (Flushmates) for a good while and I love them. It's always funny when guests are in my bathroom for the first time and they flush and it's a different sound.

One inebriated houseguest backed into the tank and cracked it it. She freaked out because she couldn't understand why there was no water spilling out of the tank. LOL

300 to replace the tank.

Well all I can say about this matter is, I bought two of the tall ones with buttons on top and totally regret it. Why? Didn't realize how much "stuff" you can store on top, lol.

We been using all comfort height toilets at 1.28 gal flush that work perfectly. One piece toilets with plastic seats with soft close for easy cleaning is the way to go. Flush levers are easy to clean as well. Depending on layout we like shelves above toilet if matches decore of house.

We recently had a listing that had a "touchless" flushing system. You waive your hand over of section of the tank to flush the toilet.

You can probably reto-fit your existing toilet. Do an internet search for "touchless toilet flush kit".

The taller & elongated version is preferred with side button and wooden seat with the "quet close" feature. Gotta be a water saver too!

I would be very happy if they just did away with that weird design on the side and make it smooth. Always thought it was unsightly and not practical from a cleaning standpoint.

I'm seeing more energy efficient in both new construction and pre-owned. No push button for me and honestly, I hate some of those energy/water efficient toilets.  I mean, do they really flush all? Check again! 🤨

You want something with a roaring flush to offset calcium build-up. Chair height is preferred and lever works fine...I am not sure how to improve this

Standard height.  Water saving is the only option these days.  Only choice is one handle or two buttons (one for little water, one for mucho water).  Standard seats.  Not the full oval, but the shorter ones.

New construction seems to have standard comfort height, energy efficient toilets. Custom may have something different. We recently upgraded all the toilets to comfort height, front lever, plastic seat. Wood and cushion seats gross me out. I feel like plastic can be cleaned better. We had to go with what fit. The first toilet's base was too deep so back in the box it went. Oh, and not carpet or rugs next to the toilet.
