Generally use the Supra box on the left, hang it on the gas pipe or some other solid bracket, though we do sometimes just set it on the porch.

There are a few very remote places where we use the combo boxes as there is no cell signal.

We use supra in our MLS. Typically I hang it on the front door. If the front door does not accommodate a box, I will hang it on a railing or set it by the front door entry in a corner. I do not hide extra keys or combos. When I have a South Carolina listing, I hang a second box (often on the back door) for SC agents who don't have access to NC boxes.

I feel they are too heavy for the doorknob, usually and will hang them on a railing or utility setup on the side of the home.

In my market we are required to use electronic, if we want to use combo we better have an alternative.... I have both but I like to see eye to eye contact of both the buyers and their agents.... you  learn a lot so I am a face to face guy...

In NY we used the one on the left. Here in MT we use the one on the right. Electronic is definitely preferred. If they fit on the door knob, that's where it goes. Otherwise, any other appropriate place as long as the location is identified in MLS.

I don't leave an extra key anywhere but that's not a bad idea.

Both. Combo is usually out of sight and used for emergency or for contractors doing work/repairs in the house, and for agents in neighboring MLS's. Front and back door usually, unless seller prefers another location.

Only e-key. Hang out of sight of passersby on a doorknob or water spigot. Never hide an extra key - too risky!

WIth many rural listings, i like the good old combo box where supra does not work in all locations i list in. I like the front door and if they have a handle instead of a knob, i like a location waist high on a railing or fence. I HATE when people put it on the ground.

We use push button combo. I usually place around doorknob but have used a fence or railing.

Typically electronic, occ combo especially in areas without good cell service; usually on doorknob or porch railing.  Never just set on the porch.

I used the electronic boxes as they emerged. Some of my agents, who dealt with foreclosures also used combination boxes for vendor access.

Sentri Lock blue tooth, lets me know when and who opens it. I usually give the Seller the option if property is vacant and they request a combo. Normally will put on front door or front porch some where.

Usually Supra, I like that I get notified when someone opens the box. It goes on the front door, sometimes garage side door. Occasionally, I will add a coded box as a courtesy to those agents coming from another area with no Supra access and I will remove it after they are done showing.

We use the rip off Sentri lock boxes plus a smattering of combos. I like them but I do not like the price as we buy them from our board at around $130-$150.  This 'technology' is just a bunch of crap for that price. I can get a phone for $50 that is more complicated than that thing. In fact my garage door opener from the 90's is more advanced.

You can buy them used if you google them.

Front door is preferred but I have used a tree branch when associations won't let them on main door or garage.

I never hang in a street visible spot. It a waving flag for those eager KW agents. Usulally means hanging on garage service door. And ALL electronic boxes have a CBS code. Just doing the job the SELLER expects me to do...have their house shown in the best possible manner.
I will add a combo box when house is not occupied AND others require access.
The owner typically has a fake sprinkler head key stash near the front door. And never overlook the number of neighbors and trusted friends who also have a key. This at times has proven problematic.

In our area combo is the predominant box, hung on a doorknob or a porch railing, sometimes a light fixture...Electronic is almost non-existant and when I see one listed in the MLS I contact the agent to tell them that if they want it shown in this area add a combo...All that said, keep in mind I work in a County with a total population of about 140,000 people.

Our mls requires that we install a Supra lockbox on any home listed on the mls.

We add a combo box for the use of our stager and others who require access but do not have access through a Supra.

Where it they are installed varies according to the property. Instructions as to the location of the Supra will be in the mls Confidential Comments.

There is a nation wide law suit calling the use of electronic lock "Steering"

since one MLS system may not use anothers lockbox.

Electronic boxes are the way to go. Combo's are not really safe and I've seen codes scribbled right on the boxes or near one (porch post!) plus they can be given to unauthorized persons. As a homeowner, I would never permit one. The electronic box should be visible and placed on something from which it cannot be removed, but you need to make sure the battery is charged! I've had to get a box cut off once when it stopped working while on the door of a listing.

Supra box as close to front door and easy to get to as possible for agent.  Only use other lockboxes as homes are remodeled, rehabbed or getting ready for market. They come off at listing time.
