Hi Alexandra- I offered this same comment a few months ago about people from CA leaving the area...is it too late to put a border around Texas?

Yes, this trend predates Covid although the pandemic has delivered hard facts regarding new businesss managment principles.
The article(s) stop at simplistic responses to questions that are more aligned to finding a place where one's disillusionment can be assuaged.
That is when we all get 'happy feet.'
And as the story continues to be written, is is hard to forecast the final resting place of 'California Crazy' and that NYC train wreck. And for this disease we have no vaccine.

I find it hard to believe they put New York as a destination area!

As long as they leave their political agendas at the border it would be fine but reading blogs and articles, this is not the case and their cheap rides will become the same as what they left!

Boy, that is a total mistake. They are not coming to Chicago. Something like 75,000 people exited this place in the last few years alone.

I've been reading about this for a while, Alexandra. This article underscored what I've already been reading. Very sad to see... and I suspect we will see this migration out of similar cities in the the months to come. I haven't been in SF for a number of years, but the last time I was there I was appalled by how many homeless there were on the streets, how dirty the streets were in many areas. It looked nothing like the beautiful, elegant city I lived in in the mid-1970's.

Yet the population growth rate is still positive--for 2020 anyway. Many of my clients have left, but quite a few that left a few years ago just came back. Weird dynamics...

As many flee the places where the officials they voted for systematically ruin the place, they move to areas where things are fine to vote the way they voted in the past and the new place will not last. Have you heard about the definition of insanity?

I spent a lot of time in San Francisco in the 1990's.  It was a spectactular place.  Geographically beautiful.  China Town.  Lombard Street. Fisherman's Wharf.  Haight-Ashbury (yes, it was mostly history by the time I was there, but just to think of the whole 60's hippie movement created at that place).   The Golden Gate Bridge.  I got a photo with "Nash Bridges" Hemi-Cuda parked for a shoot for the TV show (there were two of them, they were clones for the show, the real car was too valuable to put on the street).  And on and on.  I loved that place; I thought of moving there.

What a historic tragedy that San Francisco is now a third-world, crime infested wasteland.

As for moving to Chicago, I find that hard to believe.  The Californians are fleeing to Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Texas, and Florida.

I clicked on the article but then got busy with another offer.  I'm back again!  Interesting......so much shifting going on and I have a feeling it's just the start of it all.

Seriously ... what do people need to read that they are not experiencing in the Land of Oz ... California!  The state has become a trash can filled with crazy!

Many are landing in the Atlanta area. My daughter spent 2 years living and working in Silicon Valley. She left because of the high cost of living and the traffic.

There is lots of talk about people leaving California and it is true. Yet, California could lose several million people and still be the most populous state in the Nation.
