I remember when I was studying this subject and how serious I took everything. After decades in this business, common sense, customer service and professional conduct win the day. To answer your question: Fiduciary is another word for personal trust which to me if applied to all aspects of the human being would make a better world. The legal definition is to act with best interests for another party. You getting licensed is contingent upon you agreeing to do so. I do it because it is the right thing to do
