Getting a truck in the bay area at any price continues to be a challenge for so many.  Pesonally, I'd rather pay a little more than to fly to a destination to pick up a truck and then drive it to wherever I'd be moving to.

I heard some truck places won't accept a truck drop off.

I'm not surprised. I read somewhere that San Francisco has twice as many homes listed for sale than they did the same time last year. And I suspect we'll be seeing a migration out of places like Portland, Seattle, NYC, etc.

what I'm hoping is that enough people are leaving to give them less deligates in the electoral college.

I wonder how the folks in Idaho feel about this migration, perhaps they will get California to build a wall.

I did not know, but I am not surprised to hear that.  I used to live in California.  It's so much cheaper to live in Georgia.

Why Boise? Wouldn't it be faster, cheaper and easier to go to Reno or somewhere just across the state line and pick up a truck? It's not just California that is having a mass exodus and it seems they are all coming here.

John it wouldn't surprise me if it was cheaper to also fly to Phoenix and rent one here and go back to CA and drive back to PHX. We have a lot of folks from CA moving here. We're working with several now.

Interesting but not surprising. Of course, time is money so saving a few hundred bucks might not be the wisest decision.  Flying isn't exactly a picnic.

Utah insurer sends patients to Mexico to buy prescription drugs

Feb 10, 2020

For some patients in Utah, the cost of making a round-trip journey to Mexico for prescription drugs is cheaper than getting them at home.

Americans have long used Mexico and Canada as a source of cheaper prescription drugs. But for the first time, a major insurance company is using another country as a way to lower its health care spend.

According to a recent report, the insurance company, which covers government workers in Utah, has begun implementing a plan that involves flying a patient to San Diego, paying for them to be escorted by a guide across the border to Tijuana to buy meds, and then returning them to the airport to fly back home on the same day. The patients even get $500 in cash for making the trip

They have been sating this forever, just like "no one wants to move to America anymore:"  There's a reason home p;rices continue to rise and that because we have plenty of people.  No fear here.

But when they leave a city they are not necessarily leaving the state.  We have lots of buyers looking in the Monterey Peninsula from the Bay area.  Moving their stuff is not as big a problem.  Couple of my recent clients are buying here as a second home, then taking their time with the actual move.

I recently packed up a house in Indy (not Calif or similar crazy states) and found the PODS and U-haul boxes to be an exceptional alternative. Harbor Freight and Home Depot have very inexpensive racheting tie down straps that make the whole packing process EASY.
I can imagine CRAZY STATES may impose restrictions on such options.
