The text has to be stripped.  Once stripped, edit the text with font size, bold, H-tags, etc.  Select all text then click the Clear formatting icon shown below. 

code does not "paste" well in AR editor, you have to paste, strip the code and then edit it in the editor for it to look nice.

Pat - do you see what you have missed during your blogging hiatus?  It's not just about multiple offers but mishaps and glitches around the ActiveRain water cooler that have become a part of everyday life.   You have timed your return to these pages to miss the dog days of August where homegrown issues seemed to flourish.  As for the ransom note - that may be the handwriting on the wall.

yes, Word goes & adds all this extra HTML that makes the editor go wonky. Many people use it though but I don't have any idea how they get it to work. I use an ancient HTML editor.

I used to write in Notepad, Wordpad might work if you use Microsoft products. 

Patricia, I've never known it to act other than you described.  I strip the formatting using the icon, then reapply formats.  It's just plain old school.

Hi Patricia Kennedy I've had that happen and totally forgot to do what Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist suggested. I write my post in Google Docs because when I started here someone (not sure who) told me not to write it in Word.

I was having this issue a lot, and I couldn't get the method Kathleen mentioned to work either (maybe I did it wrong!).

I found that if I switched to Firefox when inputting posts, and pasted it as source code, saved it, and then made my changes, that works perfectly.

Word and Active Rain's editor don't speak the same language, so copying from one the other will result in issues.  As Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist said, you need to strip the formatting, then recreate it.  Some code editing may be required as word can do things that AR cannot.

you can copy and paste, but not code.

Patricia Kennedy I learned are really neat trick.  I now cut and paste to Notepad and it cleans everything. I then cut and paste from there to my blog post.  Works like a miracle.

I heard a long time ago, AR and Word do not work well together.  I used to write in Google Docs and that worked.
