Similar to what inspires you.  A note card of gratitude means more to me than anything.  I truly enjoy working with and helping so many amazing people. 

Wherever I am I tend to be grateful to be there and contribute. Real Estate has rewarded me richly and I marvel at all the different personalities, properties and results to this day. Very satisfying as a contact sport as well as eduactional and fun. I look forward to my remaining times....

I still have a LOT of karma to burn off, clearly. LOL
This AM I got a PM in FB from someone needing a resource . . . to match a property with its owner (a trust) and its unnamed individuals. He was under the gun to grab that info TODAY NOW YESTERDAY.

I told him send property address, I got this. (He's in another state)
30 seconds later . . . I got it.

He was like damn, you didn't have to even respond and my problem is solved. I owe you bigly! 

Nah. I told him I love the PI shiz.

THAT'S why I do this. For the PI shiz. 

It's fun. And it pays well.

I enjoy the job. With turning 65 next Feb. I think I am going to start winding it down.

Latest personal story. Thursday I past client introduced me to a Friend looking to FSBO his house. Of course he knows everything. At the conclusion of the walk-about I voiced I respected his cost saving and self-empowered approach to not spending a dime. I asked, 'Are you aware that only a 'cash' investor could buy this house in its current condition?" 
'It's just cosmetic and dirty. It is a good deal and sweat equity opportunity!" with some indignation.

"The HOLES in the exterior 2nd level wall means BIG trouble ahead." This could only be seen from the furthest property line on ones tippy-toes. The damage was extensive.

My past client jumps in, "I told you she was exceptional and you can trust her."

The following day the phone rings...."How do I fix this?" he asks.
In many cases I can not prevent problems but I can prevent them from ambushing the unprepared.

I see real estate in the same light as kids playing in the street. It's a bad idea but yet there they are. The risk to everybody is high but saving one has real meaning.

Like your notecard! Retirement takes time to get used to!

The family that lost an elderly loved one needs help to guide the what do we do now... List, market, find a new owner for that house. The out of state couple who want a low cost piece of recreational land for cheap vacations. Find them the perfect affordable property. The want to live off the land buyer, help them homestead. The investor looking for multiple units to generate apartment rental income, you have those listings to match make for the best fit.

Couple needs more room with a growing family. Or second marriage couple blending eight kids between the two combining households. Find them a bigger place. Or help someone downsize. The retiring, relocating buyer who wants to be on the water. List, promote, find the buyer for that lakefront property listing out in the audience.

People, that's the kick and helping them sell or buy. You meet a lot of great people. Your real estate matchmaking job combined with family, local volunteering to be heavily involved in your community. It makes life very worthwhile and satisfying.

I love working with clients and helping them fulfill their life's dream of home ownership.  It is fun working with past clients and helping them sell homes I helped them buy knowing that it was in the best location with best schools and neighborhood that fit their budget.  Life, as a Realtor, has made my life challenging, rewarding and thrilling.
