I've been venturing out once a week to do my grocery shopping. I use a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables so want to make sure I restock those while I can. This past Monday we were at the store at 9, and there were only a few people there. I found almost everything I needed. We stayed 6 feet from the person who was checking out. We used a clorox wipe on the cart before using it, and then hand sanitizer afterwards. Everyone was friendly. The shopping trip went fine.

I was shopping early in the morning about once a week. I signed up for InstaCart this week and am now having groceries delivered. No lines. No worries. Just wait for the groceries to be delivered to my porch.  Yes, the service has a price, which I am happy to pay. But, I am also saving money by only ordering what I need and not buying impulse items.

Reduced hours.  Controlled entry.  Limited number of shoppers allowed.  Evidence of empty shelves.  Orderly physical distancing of patrons.  Thankful that the stores remain open.  As for attire, it's California - come on, little surprises me.

I dont believe that I have entered a store so far this year, people around me handle these types of things while I handle my types of things.

So far no complaints from those who head to the store to get what is needed to keep the family and business moving along.

We tried Instacart for the first time. Kind of good to have a personal shopper (sort of). It worked out fairly well. The shopper could not find everything we wanted (out of stock) and substituted in some cases.

We had two different shoppers visit two different grocery stores. One of them has been laid off from his regular job with an air conditioning repair and maintanence company. Now he spends his days trying to scratch out a living shopping for others.

Our grocery store has made some positive moves to protect the cashiers & consumers (shields, distance markers, etc).  Re: gloves & masks... whatever makes you feel better I guess; many are not warranted but "you do you".

It's always in & out with that list. I don't really care what other people do.

Lines are long but finally shrinking since the hoarders and panic-stricken are fully loaded up. We are only going out of our neighborhood and house only when needed. As far as people wearing masks and gloves, I say, to each their own.

Whole Foods is a cluster you know what.
Safeway, on the other hand, is much easier to navigate through the store.

Both are out of stock on many items ...

The grocery stores have calmed down, not aisles full of carts, and are seeing shelves having more supplies.   We were instructed to go ONLY once a week.

I wear an R95 mask and gloves when shopping.  I've been doing this for three weeks now.  I hand sanitize after shopping and then thoroughly wash up at home. We sterilize the counters after unloading groceries. We are now leaving cardboard packages in the garge for 24+ hours before opening.

The grocery stores are definitely looking different and their policies for how transactions are handled are changed as well.  It is better to be safe than sorry.

There's no getting a complete list at any store.  Last night, I couldn't find vegetable oil.  Hoarders need to realize that they are casuing more grocery traffic in creating shortages.  Folks that need something are going to four and five stores.  That's not right.

The people in masks and gloves make me shake my head.  The mask is only good for helping you not touch your face.  The gloves are no better than your fingers.  If you are touching the cart with your gloves, then your groceries, they are still potentially getting the virus on them.

At least once a week to replinsh milk (my grandson drinks a lot of that) but beyond that I have deliveries and could never go to the store again.  And I'm popping in a smaller local dollar general in the neighborhood for that.

Normally it would be out of place with the established rules of "social norms."  Now, it would be the new social norm.  The rarity that I do go out, I go out with gloves.  I use the self check.
