I never needed the government to tell me or validate what I knew already But, yes I'm glad they made me "legal" again LOL.
Food, SHELTER, Clothing are our essential basic human needs.
Water, Fire, SHELTER are our essential basic survival needs.
I'm in the SHELTER BUSINESS, I'm essential by definition and I'm essential by declaration.

I wouldn't allow my ego to gain any satisfaction from real estate transactions being deemed an essential service. Whether we're deemed essential or not, I don't think it changes our methods of operation with current shelter-in-place and distancing rules.

Our state does but, our county doesn't. Even if they did, I would stay-in-place.
It makes no sense to break the order - it's only going to prolong our confinement.

Our course we are essential but not at this time.
Thankfully, I have a brain and I know how to use it. I am hunkered down sheltered in place - my business is shut down until the pandemic is behind us.

I Agree with Brian L. Sirota, Esq. . Whatever, $$$ you may make will evaporate in no time if you become ill...Each and every person is essential on this planet...And there is no pride or shame from some politically motivated government to be declared one or the other. My gut is more valuable than any of those rules...A

This is America and the government can't restrict my business. However, I'm being smart and it seems most buyers are too. Did a video showing today to see if they are interested enough to come see in person.

Being essential and important are 2 different things, no matter what a government decrees.
But, no IMO, you are not essential (no offense). Essential means saving lives and providing food. But, yes, you do provide a very important service that helps people.
In these days and times, it's a very different world and we need to put things in perspective. It's going to look much worse here in 2-3 weeks than it already does. In Cali, you may be 2-4 weeks behind this.
It is very clear here who is essential and who isn't. I unfortunately am not able to help much due to my autoimmune disease. But, there are many here and I see in the rain who are actively helping those in need...or those who are truly essential.
If we don't, not only will we make the situation worse for all of those around us and contribute to the problem, but we will also endanger the lives of those who are truly essential.
Here it is getting hard to get prescriptions (yes, some of the pharmacists have either gotten Covid or had to be quarantined as they were exposed. and, hard to get UPS deliveries as some of the UPS workers are getting it or someone in warehouse and they need to shut down.
So no, no offense, you are not essential. You're important, but not essential for the current crisis.
If you're not essential either get out of the way or do your part to help others.
And, while I'm stuck at home, I am tryign to help my friends and followers on the phone, facebook groups or emails. I would never be spending my time with hardwood floors or looking at my next home.
I know I'm going to offend people by saying this, but I'm being honest.
Here in NY we were doubling patients every 2 days. We arestill on the verge of not enough ventilators, ICU beds, beds, personal protective gear. In Queens, people are being turned down at hospitals.
And, yes some of the doctors/nurses are getting it and some dying.
Now, thanks to most people staying home, now we are only doubling the rate every 6 days. So maybe it will be closer to 3 weeks before they need to make these awful choices.

I always knew that real estate is an essential service. I also was determined to keep at home except for my daily walk for exercise and necessary food/personal needs shopping trips. I knew that I would not be doing any open house, meeting with any clients, going to my office (which is closed, of course), meeting with my Lions Club at the restaurant which is also closed, meeting with potential new clients in person...and none of that has changed.

I honestly believe that we were mistyped as "essential" in some states, I think it only reflects the power of the local lobby.
