I'm from the school of thought that educated people have no reason to be swearing and cursing in a public environment. What's the purpose in doing this? What does it accomplish?

I would not be happy and I would let the organizers know. I don't care who it is who uses this type of language, it is unprofessional, unnecessary, and uncalled for.

Almost 30 years working as an engineer for a Fortune 500 company.  Literally 100s of upper management presentations by CEOs, VPs and directors in that time frame.  Number of f-bombs dropped:  ZERO.

Dropping the f-bomb is a choice and not a necessity to convey a message.  While I may expect its use in a casual setting, I don't personally expect to hear it in a truly professional setting and IMO it does distract from the core message.

At a real estate conference, that would seem out of place. In other venues, it might be expected.

I don't hear f-bombs on a typical day so it would definitely be noticed.

I'm with Bob "RealMan" Timm on this one. Eight years in USMC so not like I have not heard or used my fair share but in a professional setting, it just ain't professional, just tasteless.

I went to 1 free conference just once in 16 years. Realtors were there to gossip and socialize and paid no attention to the speakers. blah blah blah.

Bottom line -Why would anyone want to pay to attend listened to some used car salesman speak?

Furthermore, in our area it is forbidden to gather in a large crowd. Crown (Corona) for free anyone or speaker

F-bombs, vulgarity, pornography are the crutches upon which the mentally lazy and vision lacking folks rely up. Shock jocks have found this a lucrative venue and a ploy to drag citizens lacking moral fiber down to their level.

Take care upon the things your mind and spirit feed.

Words are eternal and will achieve their purpose..(saying 'just kidding' does not remove them) .more deadly to the spirit than Corona. Don't be the 'good man' who does nothing.

Who would have thought resisting VULGARITY would become a stance requiring the COURAGE to refuse to conform?

During the speech? Come on. You can use better words.
(Yeah, from me. I would not do that)

Outside the speech? In a professional business setting? At your peril!

Outside the speech? In a more casual setting? Context? Probably 'meh'. Depends on whether I like the guy.
I might laugh. Or think they're a dolt.

F him, LOL

SEE . . . 'our message' comes through in spite of our words.

With or without the dropping of a f-bomb the possibilities of me becoming disracted are numerous if I am not fully engaged.  Although you have given us food for thought, it seems a bit like an appetizer.

It would make we wonder their motive.  Are they trying to be cool and current?  Or, are they lacking in intelligence and or decorum?

And, as Liz and Bill Spear mentioned, it is a choice that reminds me of Gordon Ramsey; notice he is able to control his mouth in front of his Mother and his children!!

Like most here, it's not a great fit for me and it seems out of place. That said, it wouldn't necessarily bother me or prevent me from duplicating the speaker's message.

Home is where the hearth is.

I suppose if you were attending a conference and the speaker was Howard Stern, I wouldn't be surprised to hear the occassional (or frequent) F-bomb.

But if I'm listening to a real estate professional, I expect a certain level of professionalism.

Of all the words that start with F in the english language, "F*ck" is the only one known as "The F Word."  There is a great comedy routine about how it is such a versatile word and can be used as an adjective, noun, tranitive verb, etc.  It's written up here.

For interpersonal relationships, cursing can actually build bonds.  There are studies out that show people who curse are found to be more "real" and more trustworthy because of it.  Most of the people I'd trust to have my six in a SHTF scenario curse.

For professional meetings/conferences/etc. I do not think cursing is appropriate, or at the very least needs to be extremely limited and confined to repeating what others said.  It shouldn't be like Joe Pesci in Goodfellas.

It would not be appropriate for any speaker to use such language, in fact might sound offensive. While it might be "mainstream" on the street, we should adhere to some civility guidelines in public speaking. There are many better alternatives to get attention.

Depends - does it seem natural for the speaker? Or like they're forcing it for shock value? Is their content amazing, or so-so?

I'll listen to your F bombs all day long if they're being dropped in passion along with some of the best information I've ever heard for the topic.
