I have never been a DYI person when it comes to physically construct something. So DIY to me means double the price

When I see "DIY" I think someone has a way to do something without hiring a skilled professional. I do not assume I won't need tools or skills of some sort. I also don't assume it will be easy, whatever it is. I read it and decide whether it's something I'd like to do myself. Usually it's not.

As for real estate, imagine a buyer going online, selecting a house and that's it! The click of a button releases funds, applies/approves a mortgage, registers deed and then keys are dropped at your front door via drone. Now that would be a DIY process that would be hard to top.

In reality, at least at the moment, most sellers and buyers do much better having a skilled professional on their side.

DIY appeals to a certain individual and their skills bank as well as the curious and the thrift of mind. It also implies ease of use or simplicity. Many run into the reality phrase: "It is easier said than done"... as a wake-up call

Somebody once said, there's no such thing as a 5 minute job. DIY is always more involved than alluded. If  your skill set is such you can do a lot for less but leave the duct tape & take the toolbox.

No. No. No. No. and NO.

More is always needed and I typically call my son to get help.

Butter knife and duct tape are essentials with all DIY projects.

For me, it ranks right up there with "caveat emptor" and "some assembly required". Either way, I am gone!

hello public means not anonymous .... you have to mention that now?

You can completely do it yourself without calling a plumber or anyone that is a member of a union. Self skills with some tape & glue.

Gather all parts needed before you begin. Have your child about 10 help as they can probably do it faster than you.

I create most of the stuff by myself. The only thing I wanted to do is build a modern Victorian style home DIY.  Too much work....
