I was NOT big on holiday marketing Annette Lawrence , Palm Harbor, FL 727-420-4041 however for Christmas I sent out cards that very clearly stated that I hoped they enjoy the celebration of Jesus Christs birth. Damn political correctness! I'm proud to be a Christian and Christmas is all about Christ.

I did a countdown to Christmas here one year. It was FUN and gave helpful hints on decorating ideas and such. Thinking about changing it up a bit and posting on FB. A Christmas card will go out to my sphere, offering something of value.

When I consider marketing tactics, I always think, what would I do if I received whatever it was that I'm thinking of sending. I delete any kind of holiday marketing, including post cards, flyers, emails, and even sale flyers from stores. So I do not do any kind of holiday marketing.

The thing about the big companies is they worry about offending someone (or a group). I was just a small potato in the big world of real estate. I had my place and I wasn't trying to fit into whatever being Politically Correct is.  If someone got offended by being wished Merry Christmas then there were about 399 other agents to choose from. No problem. If I had to worry about offending whoever I was working with, then I'd rather not.

I'll change out the covers on some of our social media sites to something holiday themed. Maybe throwup a few memes. Nothing too crazy.

I try not to be excessive yet you will see a few blog posts for many of the real holidays.

I "recognize" the holidays in my marketing, but I do nothing over the top or cutesy. Cutesy is not my style in general and I don't do it for holidays.

We send a monthly newsletter to our SOI. It will include reference to appropriate holidays without being all about the holiday.

I do not embrace the holiday/seasons in my marketing.  I've sent "Christmas" cards for many years.  This year I am sending a Happy New Year 2020 card. I send Birthday cards as well.

We rarely did, we did wish Happy Hannukah, Kwanzah, and Merry Christmas appropirately!  We included everyone in Happy New Year...no cutesy stuff in commercial real estate in our then marketplace. 

Negative.  I don't engage in holiday themed marketing with the exception of a holiday greeting.

Once upon a time I sent Happy Thanksgiving cards. Then it became popular, so I quit!

I do send holiday themed marketing pieces, Annette. I think it's worse to 'ignore' it because we don't want to step on anyone's toes. Anything hand-written, hand-signed and personable, they love!

I do. We live in a global area. I get that not everyone celebrates the same holidays. However, if I go to another country they're still going to celebrate their traditions. I'm giving a pie to clients for Thanksgiving. If they don't celebrate then they get a free pie anyhow. I do know people who move to the US and embrace our traditions. I'm very excited this year as we'll be celebrating with my daughter's in-laws. They have invited guest who are from other countrys and live in their area. There will be at least 5 other countries represented so we're having an International Thanksgiving.

Sometimes, if there is a unique idea. But I feel like people become so desenstized to holiday blitz marketing that it's better to have solid, unique evergreen campaigns. Tailored to your niche is better in marketing. One size fits all works good if you're doing a stand-up routine, but I think more specific is better in reaching your customers :)
