My father was big in Tom's dad's coaching empire back in the day. He benefited from it, to the point of coaching Mike's clients and being brought on stage at several of Mike's "Superstar Retreats". But like anything, if you don't put in the work, you don't get the results. My father put in the work and got the results. Others didn't and didn't.
Mike then was all about door knocking and cold calling. That was back before the do not call list though.

I've been in this biz since 87 and in the beginning had some awesome coaches. I do remember going to some big name ones as well including TF. And I spent a lot of money on tapes or whatever they were selling - and honestly not sure how many I actually listened to nor did most of the agents I knew. I happened upon Ninja Selling in a CRS course in the early 2000's I think. That was exactly my style that I had been doing already and that's what I've stuck with since then. Larry Kendal out of Fort Collins CO still does Ninja Sales seminars.

I trained and mentored for 30 years..... I'm all set with that....
I don't manage, train or mentor anymore.... there are a select few who still call for my opinion, just to double check to see if they're making the right decision....

I don't doubt he'd get you hyped. About 15 years ago my broker wanted his agents to attend a conference with one of these coaches but it was only a 1 or 2 day commitment, people enjoyed it. I don't know of any agent who received long term coaching. TF has a big name in the coaching business.

I never understood why adults owning their own business needed someone else to be accountable to ?? We know what to do, when to do it and why. There is nothing new under the sun. Keep your head down and do the work!

I like him & his dad & brother. They coach a lot of people but I've never gotten into numbers. I liked coaching but just didn't have the $ to continue during the crash or I would have.
I can't tell if you are skeptical? annoyed? but at one of his retreats there are always thousands.

Several agents in our office pay for professional coaching. I don't think any are doing anything with the Ferry organization. I'd guess that about 10% of the agents in our office are working with a coach and of those about 1/2 like it and will continue the other half will drop it.
Personally I'm interested in working with a coach at some point but coaching is not in my budget at this time (that's probably why I should get a coach).

Who knows. Considered, attended at least one event, actively participated and/or fully engaged. The levels are definitely subject to interpretation. For gurus and those who follow.

That's a LOT of clients, Peter!
As for coaching - I may be the odd ball but, coaching has helped me tremendously. I came from nursing and my first partner (my sister-in-law) was a Corporate America gal and we NEEDED help!
For me, it's the best thing I've ever done for my business. My coach had a ton of clients but, I didn't care how many - as long as he taught me what I needed to know to set-up and build a successful business.

I tried 2 different coaching programs. Cocoran Coaching dropped me after 2 sessions. I got an email from them 1 day saying there was a "group" coaching call that day. Problem was I'm in Hawaii and the time had past & WTH I paid for private sessions. When they called me to re-up. I told them I never got the 3 sessions left I signed up for. (nothing further happen besides a promise to look into it)
Years later I signed up for Brian Buffini group coaching calls. That was a mistake as they put me with a group of new agents. I wanted a group session where we went from doubling our already 6 figure income. (they did give me my money back) So if you can find a good coach, great but otherwise save your money.

I know plenty of agents who pay big money for coaching. Some people love it, and some don't.
Personally, I hate accountability... so coaching just doesn't work for me.

I'm in coaching and I have coached. I'm sure all those Tom Ferry coaches have coaches as well. It is important you understand what you want to get out of coaching and you're paired with the right coach.
I also want to add that many business owners and top executives outside of Real Estate have coaches. I worked with a client years ago and she coached CEOs and top executives at big name companies all of us have heard of. Many financial institutes, apparel companies, tech companies etc. You just need to make sure you find the right coach and as someone else mentioned, put in the work.

I've tried it and with Tom Ferry... and I was not impressed. With 7K clients it's like being on an assembly line of coaching... nothing new or unique and little consideration given to my individual business. They seemed more interested in touting results as they measure them to attract more clients than really understanding what my business was all about.

Back in the day, Mike Ferry was the guy. Then he brought in his sons, lacking anyhting but stage experience, and I lost interest.
If I were doing coaching now, I would adapt the material of Jeff Shore.

I haven't seriously considered it- but not for the reasons most agents would give. Prior to becoming an agent- I worked in Learning and Professional Development for Wall Street firms and I designed the global training infrastructure in some organizations. This included management and leadership training. My background was mostly finance/ecomonics and tech- but my team leader was also working to get me more diversified training to eventually move into a coaching role. I didn't ultimately become a coach, but if gives me a perspective that is a bit different.
Fast forward to a career change into Real Estate sales- and I can see the value to coaching for many people. That said- some will find it more valuable/useful than others. For myself, while I know that having a coach would add some value- I have a difficult time justifying that the return of investment would add enough value to justify moving forward.

It's probably just as easy to get an accountability partner in your own brokerage, and a lot cheaper too.

Sandy has with Buffini; it did not make a marked improvement on her ROI. I never have.

I have no idea about the percentage of agents that considered coaching.
I am not a fan. I do self-coaching. I really do not need someone else to tell me what I need to do or how to do it. Perhaps that is because of the experience I bring to the table and the skills and education I have.
