There are some who believe a data base "death" is not the end.  Others believe in connections and for them "that" matters.  Is it a question of quantity versus quality?  Maybe.  Maybe not.

I have over 1800 in my newest computer - my older ones, even more.
I don't REMOVE anyone . . . even if I have them blocked! (gotta have them as a contact to block them!)

I have a solid database that continues to grow with new clients. A few who go rogue (as-in doing business with another agent) are deleted, as I practice the Agent for Life business model.

I have close to 2000 and yes, break them down into categories. It is time for a check though, but when winter comes and it slows

I have well over 1,500... I don't delete unless it's clear the contact information is no longer viable or unless someone unsubscribes.

About 1600 and we nurture them sometimes for a few years.. We delete when they have already purchased or sold without us, or request an unsubscribe, or suddenly reveal they are licensed agents

As to how many, it is not enough and too much, at the same time it seems. Yes, culling occurs, some old, some recent depending on the situation.

There is no need to delete any,

I never deleted anyone until after I retired.  You never know when they might call... even years (sometimes many years) later.  

A lot but, I focus on my top clients.

As long as a 'ping' receives a valid response I know there is a heartbeat on the other side. They are not deleted by may be removed from the RED HOT buyer/seller list. Don't ya think.

With 77 year drip campaigns why delete anyone?

I have multiple data bases. Some are directly real estate, some community, some special events and others b2b.  ALL of them will make some real estate decision within then next 10 years. Those b2b with a collaboration component are golden.

LOTS (I should prob know the real #).  I usually go through them 2 x per year and re-categorize as needed. 

My data base is expanding and needs to keep expanding. Yet, sometimes the pruning needs to be done, too.

Which database. I have 4. The largest has close to 30k. It is not uncommon for a buyer to make a purchse after many many years of updates

I remove people who ask to be removed, and occassionally I'll remove people who have proven to be difficult to work with.
