when I was actively listing property and working side by side with builders, NEVER DID I PUT MY PHONE ON ANYTHING BUT A VERY LOUD RING!!!!

that was my business, and I did not want to miss a call.... that was decades ago and I had four different land lines in my home.... and every room had a phone....

I shut my phone off about 2 hours per work day and have a Jam Session on a project of the day. I also shut it off after 7PM and Sundays. My family and friends have my house phone #

I turn off my ringer and place into silent mode and usually move it from my desk or work area. Removing the sounds allows me to focus without the constant sound disrupting me.
