And how will this impact anyone? Perception versus reality. Yin and yang. Effect or affect? It's a topic for discussion.

whatever the reduction may be, the market is on fire....secure as many listings as possible at a fair market price....you'll sell in a day or two....

.25 to .50 but it doesn't directly effect interest rates for buying RE. I sure know there is a lot of buzz about it in the markets.

1/2 a percent. I think it will make buyers come off the fence and drive prices back up some as buying power increases. I think the fed are a bit clueless right now though and doing more harm than good by lowering rates. Why jumpstart a good economy? Save the magic bullets for when things start to go south.

0.25? Won't likely impact mortgage interest rates but, it will likely pique the curiosity of buyers who are on the fence this summer!

I think the Fed will cut rates by 0.250% tomorrow. If any of the comments by Jerome Powell indicate a lack of inflation and/or alude that the economy is showing additional signs of weakness, bonds will rally (and mortgage rates will improve). Thanks for the shout Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor, ePRO, CRS, RCS-D

I am hopeful that some reconsideration leaves it intact. We have 30yr fixed at what 3.3% give or take. Where do we really need our mortgage rates to be 2.8%, 2.9%. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

I the Fed reduces rate, I expect no more than 1/4%. Rates have been tending down this will move them down some more.
Good for buyers. Good for home sales. Good for the stock market.

I believe they will go for a half of a point. Mortgage rates will stay steady since many countries do not want to buy our debt.

Well, we'll see. As you know interest rates and mortgage rates are not necessarily tied together. Mortgage rate is a function of the bond market and demand for money.

The market has already factored the expected change into rates; I would expect little to no change in mortgage rates. If the rate does not change, I would expect the stock market to drop and mortgage rates to increase a bit, then settle after a bit.

Hopefully we all had a bit of fun. .25 is the cut and answer. And no it doesn't mean mortgage rates go down .25 today. BUT the great news is it gets people thinking about buying real estate!

0.25%. It is debatable the mortgage rates will change. Too low already.
A few borrowers who purchased in 2006 with low down are still paying 6+%. A few still do not have 20% equity. Help me help me to inflate home value.

Post knowledge: 25 basis points. Yup; it will affect mortgage rates but not to the full 1/4%
