What are you trying to achieve?  Sometimes a personal invitation is the right answer.  For others it could be a post card, an advertisement....  Some many options.  Lots more questions too.  Budget?  Time involved?  How detailed?

Facebook; 

1. create a post, get it some traction

2. create an event 

3. Boost the post that is getting some reach with a link to your event

4. Set up Evite to manage the event and registrations, etc. 

5. Get them on a mailing list so you can send reminders. 

6. Join groups on FB that have your interested avatar in them, 

add value, get them interested in you, then very tactfully talk about your even. Contact the admins of the groups to see if they will sponsor your event. 

 

LinkedIn:

1. Send out invites to your Linkedin connections, in Inmail and messaging. 

2. Create a video about your event 

3. Post as a post on LI

I would post it on Facebook, I believe you can post it to Events & invite people as well as post it on your town's group page on Facebook; so long as they allow it.  Maybe try Nextdoor too, they have an area to post local Events & they seem to be gaining in popularity.

...for me as it relates to real estate lead generation...let's face it, that is ALL it's about.......I find the greater commotion that is created on the street, the bigger the turnout. Some commotions work better than others.
