I would certainly be interested in what you learn. This is something I've thought about but not researched yet.  It may be too late  to get a reasonable rate at my age.

Insurance shopping can be a nightmare, so much comparing apples to oranges.

One thing that I like about the Affordable Care Act is that is required them to all offer consistent coverage.

I believe that would a state-specific policy and the cost will vary depending on the state. I do not currently have one however I will be getting one later this year.  All the best to you on this.

My suggestion is to consult with your family attorney and also your business advisor, CPA, Financial planner.

Something to seriously look at is how the policies actually work these days. You're monthly rates are subject to change so its possible that by the time you do need it or while you are using it. It could actually become unaffordable to pay the premiums by the time you need it or while you are using it. The premiums continue until the insured party dies or cancels the policy.

I have not checked into long-term care insurance yet as I was told that there is no point before 60. When I was looking into it before, I checked with Zander Insurance. They are the broker and work with many companies. I found my life insurance through them. They are very highly rated and Dave Ramsey endorses them. Can't hurt to check them out. 

Sorry, that's one area I have not looked into.

Just last week when I signed up for Medicare/Medicade I chose a policy Kat Palmiotti . I can't tell you a darn thing about it yet but I trusted my agent after I grilled the s**t out of him about it. 

Mine is paid for through Hanover. They had no charges after $100,000 paid.

Hi Kat... I know we have one, but my husband organized it all so I don't have a clue about the details and couldn't say whether I love it or not. I think it's important to "hook up" with the right professional who can bring you multiple options to consider and explain the pros and cons of all in easy to understand language so you can make an informed decision.

My recommendation is to find a NGO or attorney type who specializes in Life Planning.  Some who specialize in elder care could prove beneficial.

For most, making such plans at least five years in advance is CRUCIAL.

One would think AARP would be a 'go to' resource since they are now in the 'insurance' business.

I have not looked into it! Pros and con on each side of the table.

Do not have one. Wife says a waste of $.

Do some Medicare research or assisted living places offer various plans too
