It really depends on what is happening.  As far as predicting such things it's not possible for me.

Everyone needs to work the hours that best serve their business, their goals, their clients and their market. That said, Sundays are the slowest day of the week in San Diego, CA, so I take Sundays as my day off and I've been doing so for about 12/20 years of my career...a 20 year I know it works.

If Tuesdays were the slowest day of my week I'd take them off instead, but alas, Mon-Fri is jammed packed and Saturdays are very busy showing & inspection days. Sundays make sense to me, my goals, my family and my relax & recharge needs.

Personally, I find that the week days and Saturday are the busiest for me on the remodeling side of the business.

For the real estate sales side, weekends see the most activity and the most agent phone calls.  I find myself working more "on" the business rather than "in" the business on the weekends though.  Fewer distractions for working on stuff like newsletters, learning photo editing, video editing, tackling google index coverage issues, working on site speed, etc.

I learned growing up that the nights and weekends were typically the busiest times for residential agents, as that is when the buyers and sellers are typically available to meet.

I was successful even though I did not let clients dictate to me what hours I'd work Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS . My clients new that I was done on Friday at 3:00. I would work Saturday afternoon to show a maximum of 3 homes to a Seller, and I only worked Sunday afternoon to do a 1.5 hour open house. The rest of the week I was always swamped.

I think for me the biggest irritation is evenings. I spend the better part of the day with emails, phone calls, paperwork, etc. Then by the end of the afternoon just when you think you are caught up someone calls. "Can you show a house?" "Can you stop by?" "I am sending you an offer!" (Ok, that last one is good).

I don't mind weekends if I can plan for them. I hate that last minute stuff.

Real estate is a jealous master... she wants all of you but shutting it off, taking a vacation helps you come back energized. Let's face it, most of us think about our job and are suited well for it or would be looking for another right Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS . Most buyers work during the week to earn the money needed to pay for their new house. So, that means we work with them on evenings and weekends. If you do open houses, those will eat up your weekends, also.

Yet one on the values on being on a successful, sizable team is the back-up from team members when I am away or otherwise occupied.

Varies with the season and also with the knowledge of the client I think its just as important to set business days as you do hours. Obviously there are clients who will call or text you any day or hour which is fine as long as they don't expect answers on a 24/7 basis.

So I always let clients know about my schedule so they know when to expect replies to their messages etc. It works quite well for all concerned.
