Depends how vigilant I am to push them back into the lawn away from the snow plow heading by as we head into winter. The rugged power coated solid steel frames and 24 gage, metal bolted in secure sign panel "silent salesmen" are no match for a Fisher snow plow. I can get ten years out of the step in and tack on metal ones re-using them over and over if we maintain their seasonal  placement. You don't do that with flimsy cordex or coated paper in a northern tier state. Lowen Sign since 1976 has served us very very well.

The PVC posts last a LONG time.  I think going on 10 years now for some of them.  The actual sign I think I get about the same life as you do out of them.  Depends on several factors though.  Had a couple listings in windy areas that were on yard signs (not posts).  They snapped in the wind, didn't get much life out of them.

It is way longer than that for me. I really can't say other than over 10 years maybe even 15. When they look awful, I complain & they come & replace that particular one.

The sign service keeps them for me.

Paul,

I don't recall keeping track of them.  Because, we often leased retail stores as part of our work, paper signs went into all the windows.  I had to reorder those often.  The big signs lasted.  A

Coreplast are single use. Once sold, dispose.

Metal signs, forever or until REMAX chooses to change the logo...AGAIN!

Be aware, waxing before use and cleaning after every use goes a long way in protecting the $35 investment. Unfortunately, if others store and hang the sign for the agent. one season is all an agent gets before the sign starts looking worn.

I use anodized aluminum signs. I've never had one go bad except those the wind decided to turn into missles. My corrigated plastic signs last a few years (very few of those anymore).

Depends are you talking about small direction types? or the ones that hang from the L signs?

I've had them last in good shape for a few years... to as little as a single listing weather is a huge factor... severe winds can sometimes tear a sign apart.. had that happen to two signs in the past year and they were pretty new

I change them regularly when they start to get faded and such, or when to change the graphic and design to keep updated and fresh. Sometimes the logo changes so it's time to change the sign too...
