What's a vacation?  The best I can do is get a couple of weeks away in Russia to visit family each year, usually late September/early October. But that doesn't mean I'm not working from long distance!

I have next year's vacation planned already too, Paul and we will likely take a spur-of-the-moment shorter vacation or two before then as well.

So, I do both - plan out the wazoo and am spontaneous at other times!

I am a spur of the moment gal ... if the schedule opens up I can decide quickly to take a weekend trip.  Hoever I try to visit my kids and grandkids 2 times a year and usually plan a few months in advance.

once summer hits, I like to take a few days periodically on Cape Cod.... most of it is spur of the moment planning....

I need to block out more time for adventures and travel. I have planned a year ahead some years (for bigger more expensive excursions) but mostly it's a week or two ahead for quick 2 to 3 day get aways.

We're working on one for later this year.  We have cover for stuff when we're out of town, but I stil do many things remotely from whatever country I'm in.

Your method works just fine. Today, for me its all happy to be here time for the word "work" if one finds what they love.... is replaced with joy

Not applicable.  I do not take vacations.  I will take a day here and there. 

Normally from a few days to a few weeks in advance. Other than that, I'm penciling in international travel for the next 10 years in anticipation of my next passport renewal.

It depends on the kind of vacation.  Some up to a year in advance. Others on the spur of the moment.

I wish I had that discipline.

We do not need to plan that far in advance.

Usually, Pam & I take short 3-day getaways which are more spur of the moment.

Me, not so much. Back in the old single days I always had a bag packed with whatever I needed for overnight or a couple of days, just in case I didn't feel like going home.

When I was in the corporate world, I often planned trips in advance since I had to use a certain number of vacation days per year so I wouldn't lose them. Now that I am in real estate, I haven't taken any "real" vacations. Once we move later this year, I am going to start planning them, though. 

Depends, but I can be on the plane with a very short notice. I take my work with me since i have an internet connection (unlimited data) everywhere in the world. 

I like to get my personal time on my calendar first and then fit in the time to develop new stuff and work with clients around that.  One of the things I finally learned is to take plenty of time to take care of me because I'm more productive (and a better human!) as a result.

I love to glamp in my travel trailer and I discovered last year that I was having trouble getting reservations for events because people were able to sign up for the following year at the current year's event.  That really cemented pre-planning even short trips for me.

When I did my 2018 year-in-review I was pretty pleased to have slept away from home for 51 nights.  Can't wait to see how many nights away I can get this year!

I plan a year ahead, most often based on the school vacation calendar. One of those times is coming up, but dont tell anyone....

At this point in my life, I have a general idea of vacation time year over year. There's never been time away that I don't work (I'm not complaining; it is what it is) and have reinforcements at home if "field work" is needed.

We're very spontaneous so don't plan ahead much and prefer several long weekends each year to one full blown vacation.

I try to plan ahead as much as possible. 

I am always about 3 months out of planning.

I try to schedule in advance if possible but also enjoy spontaneous getaways when possible. 

I usually plan for a vacation way in advance to get the best deals... but there it is always so exciting to go on an impromptu vacation! 

I have been planning my time away for 65 years.

I have not taken very many vacations in the past few years.
