The other day I was practicing my piano, and I realized I was smiling, I was glowing inside from the notes that were surrounding me, and I heard myself and thought, wow, that sounds kinda cool. Would anyone else think I was playing well? I have no friggen idea and I don't care. I felt as though I had reached another plane in my quest to be better at music....

Then there was the moment when, after years of practicing and working at getting over a fear of public speaking, I delivered a presentation in poem in front of hundreds of people - boring material, but I made it interesting, and got a standing ovation. Geez. Friggen amazing moment.

Then there were the times when I saw one of my children, as adults, do something that was simply amazing and I thought, hmmm, I guess I did okay. Higher level of feeling.

And then there were my years of not being able to run more than a mile, until one day, I said, Geez, just keep running! Why stop? While I'm nowhere as skilled at exercising as you are (you make me tired just reading about your running to and from the gym) I've made it to a 6 mile run and had fun doing it. I feel like THAT's a different level.

So the answer is, we all have our own "higher" level. I've reached it many times. And my goal for the rest of my life is to KEEP reaching. It's what keeps life exciting.

And what about you? I'm sure you have MANY higher level achievements.

No... I don't do stuff like this. I've survived and stayed sane all my life in high stress jobs. No meditation, no yoga, no nothing. Just one foot in front of the other day by day, do what needs doing, and keep everything in perspective.

It is a journey that I started on long ago, and will continue on until...

Yes. At the age of 23 I figured out that man is not God and has no more possibility of transforming into God then transforming into an elephant.

My higher level comes in the form of maintaining "Perspective" in all things. I have that.

Sure. A couple of very cool times. Not really able to put it into words - but kind of like one with the world, (tamed down for the public, it was more like one with the universe). Where all of existence - people, animals, plants, the planet(s) all matter, space, energy, time are all just part of a mocked up game that we have all agreed to create and play.

I control what I can and let the rest fall by the wayside.

Never get an ulcer over what you cannot control.

I find that my best level is prone on a beach chair on Kaanapali Beach.

While my higher level may not be the same as yours, keeping every situation in perspective works well for me - in everything in life. 

The day I graduated from MCRD Parris Island and earned the title of United States Marine.

Before, I was a Sr Scientist in the biggest computer firm research center. 

Whenever we push the envelope of comfortability and enter the world of uncomfortable. New breakthroughs every day can be made.

The higher level is a matter of personal perspective. 

We were created to be observers and receivers....Strive for that & all  the rest (called your portion) comes wihout effort. Most satisfying this original plan

I rarely have time to think never mind meditate. I woudl try yoga but would most likely break. My best spent time is taking 30 minutes and walking the beach. The soounds, sights and smells soothe one. 

My high is Coaching High School sports. Our team is currently #1 in Power Ranking in Varsity Girls Bowling in Louisiana. Nothing like getting away from the phone and business for a few hours every day. 

Silly as it sounds I thought I had several times only to find there are many more. Astral projection was an experience I had once in my life. It began in typical science fiction fashion by slowly drifting away fom my physical body. I looked at myself deeply and then after knowing I was okay the room's walls faded into nature and the World was instantly accessible in any vision I wished. The distances and duration I could not say although the event's end was instantaneous, refreshing and calming while not requiring any need for repeating or repeating until now. 

For me, it's that deep down feeling of contentment, peace and inner joy of being in sync with my soul purpose.

The issue I have is that the "higher level" keeps getting higher.  An accomplishment I am happy to say, I will never achieve

I don't meditate, but do feel very happy in life.

I'm on the path and I've climbed many mountains on this journey; currently I'm clinging to the face of a new mountain...long way down and climbing.

Heck YES - through meditation ... nothing like being bathed in love and light.
