I don't serve food at events.  Agents should come for the house, not the free food.

Are Reservations an option?  Just thinking.  And to be honest.  

On Man that has got to be  Stinking hot Chili!  Going to make that soon for a crowd we've got coming over for Super Bowl. Honestly my recipe changes every time I make it - I am one of those people.

Think fun - perhaps a sushi bar, fondue area, or latte station - maybe a Viennese tray or a fresh popcorn machine.... 

agents must be careful about food selection.... if it's messy, there could easily be an issue with "piggy" agents who are not careful....  we serve sandwiches made with finger rolls and a variety of fillings.... plus a caesar salad...

Here in Santa Barbara it is catered.  When we did Open houses for office buildings usually to lease a whole floor or the whole building, we catered it also.  The better the restaurant or the caterer's name, the better the attendance...no Costco, no Trader Joes....LOL A

I would go with either Chinese or Mexican food. I also love the idea of shrimp and caesar salad.

Depends on the event though. We were at a thing recently at a Harley Davidson dealer and they had a build your own taco bar and it was awesome!

Not sure what you mean by "event." I don't typically do events so it's a non-issue for me. If I have a private dinner party, people come for the pleasure of being hosted in my home and don't decide to come based on what I might be serving.

If you're talking agent open houses... I never attend those because of any food. Really could care less what is served. Most times what's served is nothing I eat in any event.

Ribs always get my attention, but not sure I would eat something like this at a social event, they can be messy.

I get a vendor to provide food.  less for me to worry about, let them pick and pay as we say in this industry. 

I find that catering the event with a well-liked restaurant does the trick to bring out people.

Nick, I recently hosted an event at a local micro-brewery and had Charlotte's #1 food truck there for the event. It was a huge hit! If you live in a city that food trucks are big, I couldn't reccomend it more - we had amazing feedback from every attendee about the craft beer & cider on-tap and the incredible food truck and food truck service.

Other than that event, I've never 'advertised' any food that will be served for an event other than a cook-out in the park. I do see agents that host open houses in the area for brokers and they always advertise the restaurant is catering - if it's top/popular restaurant, the attendance is higher, without a doubt!

Second best is grilled  falafel. However, to make a real '"you are a bunch of freeloaders' statement go with garlic nan and chutney. Well, a Plan B for garlic nan and chutney should be in place.

Locally we have a world famous chicken tender restaurant that really gets agents to head over for lunch open homes.

I don't make food for events. But personally I go for the sweets, especially chocolate.

At the last open house we did we ordered from a Thai food take out truck. It was great and we had left overs for dinner.

Id you are talking about a broker open, a shell pasta dish.  If your talking about a house warming party, turkey BBQ or Sloppy Joes.

Breakfast and Mimosas. Someone I know did that and got lots of attendees.
