Dust. Noise. General disruption issues.

Eileen--keep reminding yourself that it is temporary and the end result will be fabulous. 

Gee... maybe I've got it wrong but when I lived on a golf course I liked seeing the wildlife? I don't think there are any negatives other than some dust from construction. I would be sure of where they are putting those water hazards so my property was protected.

Eileen Burns As others have said, be prepared for noise, dust and more traffic. In the end, the area will be very attractive, I am sure. However, the rats would not make me happy.

I've never lived on or near a golf course, so can't really say. But I suppose with a lot of construction, expect noise and dirt.

Expect a lot of dust, dirt and truck traffic. I hope you are not invaded by the rats.

Interesting. Wow, it was a problem with rats and wildlife?! I guess, it is Florida. 

Leaving near construction is always hard. At the bright side - in 3 years will be gorgeous.

In general I'd say construction noise and traffic.

Noise and dust.

What about the positives?  

Eileen, As others have stated, noise, dust, maybe traffic issues with the construction.  If no major hurricanes ... the wildlife and rats should not be an issue.  We deal with those things if/when they happen.  

Normal construction nuisances and poor interim views I'd imagine.

4 years of stuff

Make a sign "It will be fabulous!" and look at it every day as you go through the dust, noise and inconvenience!

You may see a spike in property values in a few years, until then you can relax and not worry about golf balls flying through your windows.

Everywhere you go in Miami or Broward - new constructions. Take a look at our Sunny Isles Beach! Soon it will be over and we will enjoy it. 

Hi Eileen! I'm sure the pain will well be worth the gain! In the meantime, the surrounding grounds can truly be an eye sore and the noise seem to be the biggest complaint of those living on a course here, who have experienced the same thing as you - a total overhaul.

Sounds like the end result should be a huge benefit.

I don't know about the negatives.  Though, I imagine no golf balls hitting your home and/or screens would be positive.

Perhaps excessive use of pesticides - and construction noise.  I would also ask those conducting the renovation further questions about what you can expect...

A lot of issue right away but should be great when done

Noise and possible animal/pestilence relocation. It should be worth it though.

Noise, dust, guys smoking in front of your bathroom window or worse because theri bathroom is too far to walk to, food wrappers from the cheapest $5 lunch, temporary workers- as in lock your car and don't leave a laptop or purse visible, a truck blocking your driveway, oops they hit a power line, make sure you have your hazard insurance updated

When it's done hopefully your location now has improved view, new bird species settle in, quiet walks at night on the golf course, your grandchildren can sneak in and ride a cart??,  property value increases? hopefully no high rise looks down on you?

How long could it take? Lot's of dust and noise for sure. It depends. I had a friend who lived on the first hole and golf balls where flying in his backyard all the time.

if they are clearing then you might see some wild life.  When they cleared land near me a mouse got into my garage and chewed wires under my hood.  Lesson learned.
