So sorry about your ineffective pre-license teacher, great past responses. Stick around, the best stuff is learned here for your post license education in addition to your training by your broker/mentor(s). You won't regret it!

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

1. You don't work FOR a broker - they work for YOU.

2. Whatever is important to YOU - that's what you look for in a broker.

Jacob. Thank you. We miss that question!

It is not about the broker, it is about you, a new agent. You need A LOT OF TRAINING. That what you have to look for. (I was lucky, my Mom as a former teacher trained me as a dog.)

This question has been asked and answered hundreds and hundreds of times here. Check the archives. And by the way, as a real estate agent you are an independent contractor and you do not work FOR a broker.

Jacob, It doesn't matter what qualities are important to me or anyone else. What DOES matter is that you find a brokers with qualities that  match your needs. The vast majority of those here have been in the business for years so our needs will be much different than yours...the only thing that I can tell a new agent is that you WILL need training and a lot of it so find a broker who will mentor you.

When I was first licensed, I thought I knew what I wanted/needed in a broker but my instructor encouraged me to interview with at least three different brokers so I did. None of those three "clicked" with me so I expanded my search until I found one that resonated with me. Suggest you do the same...

This question comes up a lot & that's because we all want to start off on the right foot when we enter the business. As a new Agent I'd be looking for something different than an experienced agent would be. I'd look for a Broker who's knowledgeable & willing to share that to help develop you into the best agent you can be. Someone who is well respected in the industry because they may need to go to bat for you one day. Someone who is not competing with you for listings & is dedicated to developing the company & it's agents 1st. Qualities like that.

If you do a search, you'll find all the previous answers.

Obtaining a license allows you to start your REAL education. You will have to learn how to find leads for potential clients, convert the leads to clients and close the resulting transactions. Look for a broker who will provide the training that you need to be successful. A mentor can be of great value in your ongoing training.

Good luck and I hope that you achieve your dreams.
