If you're using a RE/MAX template it's not a "real" website... pretty much a page on the RE/MAX site. I'd then stick with Active Rain. Otherwise, you need your own website and/or blog to which to post and then copy to Active Rain.

Your RE/MAX templated site is not going to help you at all. You need to have a real website that you own and that has good SEO on it. I recommend getting your own exact match domain, host the domain on a hosting company site like Bluehost, then install Wordpress.org on your site, then build out your site with a blog and the rest of the pages Google expects.
And ActiveRain is used for a backlink, so we post to our website first, then we link to that content from ActiveRain. You can also post on AR first and then link back to your website too. That is a very good technique now with all the algorigthm shifts.
If you want to rank high on SERP - you must build out your own website with long form content, lots of good semantical keywords off of your main keyword phrase, lots of backlinks - it takes time, effort, and work.

you should have your own wordpress site....owned by YOU not re/max....
post to that one first, and then to ActiveRain after you've posted to your own...

Scott, We've been with RE/MAX since 2002/2004. The last thing you want is for your content to be on a site that you have zero control over. You decide to leave RE/MAX for any reason and all that work needs moved/recreated. Or if your franchise sells to another brokerage, again, all your work is gone.
We typically blog here on AR and point to our Wordpress site, but periodically run a back up and export our posts to an XML file just in case something nuclear ever happens to this community and we need to recreate the pertinent posts. Bill

Nina Hollander and Barbara Todaro are correct. You should have your own website that you post to first. After it's been indexed and is on Google, then you can post to active rain, remax and any other blog platform. Always link back to the original post with a "canonical" link Blog originally posted here
Make sure those sites link to your website in the profiles as well.

With all due respect, the blog posts you do have are too short hit and runs and before worrying about the platform you drive and post on... develop your blogging here on AR. Craft those longer, helpful posts, with related images salt and peppered in the paragraphs. And make it less remax remax remax... start to shine with longer, meatier and helpful worthwhile reads if you want to improve SERP results, lead generation. To take a larger market share bite out of the Newton Iowa real estate market.

Scott Neasham I have always found better SEO on AR then on Re/Max but I try to blog everywhere I can . I write my blog on AR and share it on all the different sites . Do what works best for you . Re/Max is not a blog site plus if you leave you loss all your content . You can copy your info there . I have been with Re/Max for 30 years and I would not make it my main blog platform -- To be honest Active Rain is worth every penny been here since 2008 you will learn more here from blogging pro's FYI ---Just Blog - Happy New Year

Scott,
Nina Hollander said it perfectly. You are more likely to get real and faster leads by coming up with a face to face program, than by ranking high in the cloud...One of our clients does not buy lead, does not write blog posts, but she markets "like she means it" to quote the very wise Barbara Todaro . People are constantly coming up to her and validating her on her marketing, and they subsequently switch agents...A
