I thjink they have had recent missteps and I don't see them getting more powerful. Other forces are competing because of the money to earn and real estate will become messier, more power will be diluted, and survival of the fittest is upon us.

The decline is already underway . . . competition, MLSs and agents reclaiming their data. We live in interesting times.

The Zevil Empire has been successful in:

Hiring away the best talent from NAR and Realtor.com
Creating preferiental alliance with big companies like CB and affiliates.
Getting access to Association listings (paid and free)
Creating back door agreements with ALL of the major franchises to  receive listing information from their national websites. (agents now can not 'non-syndicate' a listing/ Their own franchise has thrown their client under the bus)
Became the preferred black had resource for agents who want to hire others to misrepresent, deceive, steal IP and offer FALSE data on their behalf.

Zevil Empire will become bigger and stronger because the hearts of others has become darker.

Zillow and all other tech is becoming a factor that will put 80% of today's agents out of business within 3 years. The riches are in the niches and full service that exceeds expectations.

I don't give a rat's bottom about Z and will never put any thought or energy into that company, what it does, or attempt to predict its future.

Just based on the growth in numbers of RE agents, Z will continue to grow as will other web-based sites

Sadly, for the consumer, stronger & bigger.

I have no prediction for Zillow.

I am much more interested in what I will do in 2019.

Z stocks tanked from $65 to $29. The biggest disappointment is their model does not make sense.  Even the investors know that premier agent leads are not worth the pay.  Home flipping created bad publicity. It never made profit.

Another one in deeper trouble is RDFN, a discount broker. When a public charges 1% listing fee and credit back, they lose $ for each listing.

Depends on how their iBuyer program and mortgage company goes.  Could be something that turns them into a juggernaut or could be something that destroys them.

My crystal ball is turned off for the holidays.

Their recent venture into competitive world of being a direct home buyer hasbeen. drag on profitability. I imagine they'll sort it out though and plow ahead. I don't see them stumbling.

It will maintain its mark and continue to be a household word. It is now a permanent part of the Real Estate world. Oh, that we should all do this....

my "guess" is it will get stronger...I don't see it diminishing at this time....

No clue, if I were still active it would not have any impact on me. I always give my best and they have never had an impact other than giving a few sellers very unrealistic home estimates.

They will get stronger and bigger. The strong agent will also get stronger and not feel it!

I have no idea nor do I care what happens to Z. I'll spend that energy on my business and things I actually care about.

Zillow is a force to be reckoned with whether you like ot or not. Their Zillow Estimate of a propertys worth is always way off, changes that estimate to conform closer to what you're listed at and follows the price down when reduced. It gives the seller an inflated price that is hard to overcome at listing appointments, despite the comps and finally, they are testing the market to, in select areas, LIST HOMES for sale. That's right, their unfair advantage could soon be coming to your neighborhood, stealing YOUR listings, because, well, they are Zillow.

I don't follow Zillow, but hope it is on the decline.

They will grow more.

Well, they are entering Canada, so stroger, who knows, but bigger? for sure. 

Z will get bigger ... not sure it will be stronger. The bigger it gets the more kinks in the armor.  

Look at the people who are using it. As long as customers are clicking on it, there is the impact. They don't see what we see. It is our continuous job to educate our clients without disparaging the competition. 

If agents would stop paying them we would do much better
