I understand and can communicate "basics"  and understand enough to ask questions of experts in the field. 

Massachusetts is a NONJUDICIAL STATE.... banks and mortgage holders do not need permission from the courts....

Virginia is a non-judicial state. I have a pretty good understanding of different mortgage products, but I prefer to leave legal questions to the lawyers.

Oregon deals with judicial foreclosures, but most mortgages are written with trust deeds.  During the recession, we had most foreclosures handled through the trustees sale, but when the Mers issue arose, many lenders opted for the judicial foreclosure, which was always an option.  Have to wait 6 months after these for title insurance to be granted due to right of redemption - plus the cost was so much more and the speed of the foreclosure so much slower.

"non" is what is mostly used in California.

I don't expect State of Utah ask this kind of legal mortgage questions on realtor to sell homes.  Your questions is at least 15 years too old. We have licensed mortgage licencees handling loans.  You are studying for salesman license.

While we all need a basic understanding of the foreclosure process, we need to be careful to avoid practicing law without a license and make sure that any of our clients who might be in trouble get help from real lawyers.  Of course, a few of the agents on Activerain are real lawyers, but not too many.

Very much so. I use to bid for homes at the sheriff's sale and help people sell when they were in forclosure.
