I'm not typically fascinated by how it's made, I'm more fascinated by how it works and if it (1) will add to my bottom line and (2) differentiate me in my market place.

When one considers the expense of exhibiting at such a show- of course, they're selling something. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense to be there.

The things to know are these:

1) Will this enhance my business?

2) Will this save me time?

3) Will this save me money?

4) Will this make me more than it will cost me?

Any of those are good enough to pursue a conversation. More than one, or all of them apply? Well, sign me up.

I have never gone to a real estate industry expo such as this. I was going to say you can be certain there is food and a lot of other real estate industry people. Of course ROI is most important.

   Trade shows and expos.  I am always amused by the people carrying shopping bags, stuffing them full of free pens and notepads and trinkets.  

  If I go, I want to see new technology, new services that will help me stay at the top of my game.

I'm with Debe Maxwell, what's the ROI? Everybody seems to have the new next best thing, but does it make a difference in my business. I can easily walk past most booths because they seem to be more hype than hallelujah.

I find it's often difficult to find out 'how it's made' from those 'in the booth'. Typically they're either paid hawkers or ones who lost the draw. and just have to be there...

I usually spend more time in 'classes' than on the trade show floor.

For the past 2-3 years, I have avoided buying anything.  Furthermore, I have avoided the free giveaways, viewing them more as stuff that will always end up in short order in some landfill.  But, it is always interesting to se what is new out there.

we have one team member who is attracted to tech tools... he buys them but I don't think he gets the use out of them .... he's too busy listing homes everywhere...he hires professionals for everything techy....

I have been to a few Expos. The NAR is the worst when it comes to spam. A day or two after returning home the phone calls will start to purchase their gadet, what ever it may be. The exhibitors are very smart and scan your ID and know if you attend and view. Just saying whether you buy or not they will be calling.

Our expo's are combined with morning and/or afternoon CE classes; one of the sponsoring firms usually provides lunch and all the other sponsor booths offer prizes, raffles, etc. to entice more agents to attend.
