However, it is done more often than 'professionals' will admit.
The recipient is simply cloaked in the guise of 'lead generation.' There are MANY companies being paid referral fees who should not be. Just about any RELOCATION company to which an agent pays a referral fee fits that bill.
You do need to be clear if 'referral fee' is a form of contingency payment disbursed by the closing company at the time of closing or whether the postal worker received a gift card for bird dogging for an agent.
