It would be OK with me Barbara Todaro . Another alternative would be to still allow free BUT they had to have a credit card on file and any instance of spam would result in a very large charge.

A FEE would eliminate many newbies who don't want to pay for anything AND those poor Utah School of Real Estate students would no longer benefit from our years of experience in selecting the best qualities of a broker.

There are MANY remedies the worst being adding a fee. But, maybe Ben sees a profit center.

AR should be charging those spammers.  I mean, I'm paying AR and I don't spam.  They should penalized people for spamming. My thought is to not make this free anymore unless you have certain points.  AR should charge and if they spam, discontinue the account and keep the money.

I've been on activerain for more than 10 years. I would be disappointed to loose my account becaue I don't have 500k points, but not enough to start paying for one. I think there are better ways to fight spam.

If the spam is coming from bots, add an "I am not a robot" captcha check box. Also a moderator or group of moderators who can disable spam accounts wouldn't be a bad idea.

YES, YES and YES Barbara Todaro.  It is time for a revamp. It is time to charge everyone but at nominal fee to encourage agents to join but would keep spammers out. I also think they should gove the power to a few of us to be able to moderate, delete spam and block spammers. On a positive note to award gold stars on a more regular basis and rotation.

But if I am not mistaken GOOGLE can't crawl and doesn't INDEX the FREE POSTS they appear only to members.

We do have other SEO issues as well though site speed is supposedly very important to a site RANKING.
