From day one, control your schedule, don't let it control you.

Need time off for personal things, whether it is hair appointments, Little League coaching, kids activities,  the gym, etc.?  Put them on your calendar as an appt. No one needs to know what those appts are - just block them off the same as you would for a home inspection or a closing.  Be sure you have time for you, your family, your life. 

If you have unexpected (and unwanted) down time, spend it previewing, studying your local market, whatever RE related activities will make you more knowledgable. 

Give every client exceptional service and eventually, you will work 100% by referral.

Work on touching leads and contacts every day.  If you can discipline yourelf to spend an hour a day on your leads, past clients - your referral base, you will be well ahead of most agents out there.  Do this via emails, note cards you mail, calls and texts.

I would recommend starting with a CRM right away. Keep your contacts organized from the beginning and put them all on email campaigns depending on what type of prospect or lead they are. Follow up is everything!
