I always like the pre finished hardwood floor, it is easy to put down. The laminate flors although are nice, are beat by real hardwood, pre finished or unfinished

I went to a hardwood/carpet place to purchase carpeting for our three bedrooms and was amazed at the amount of "Wood" products. They dominated the showroom. Some are absolutely hideous and when installed I swear give me vertigo! There's the real cheap stuff, the padded stuff (worse!). I opt for REAL wood. My brother is a fabulous hardwood guy and is a craftsman. His work on staircases is exceptional especially if contrasting colors are involved in the install. The DARK woods I don't get! Unless you like to see everybit of dust or dog hair!
