you could leave an email for support to delete your name.... but I would guess they're very busy fixing glitches to address your request first....

And let me go on record as saying I think it sucks that you have to contact anybody to deactivate your account. I think you should be able to click a button and poof!

I think they like to keep the membership stats as 300,000. If you are talking about paid membership that is done by eMail.....

 Why cancel?

It is strange that it is easier to create account than deactivate it, maybe that's why so many abandoned accounts in here? 

I would contact them directly.  Is this site really costing that much?

The reason to cancel is because my email address appears as ActiveRain and recepients believe it is spam. That is why. Perhaps the better question is “why does the ActiveRain site make it so inconvenient or impossible to delete an account.?”.

     If you cannot get the account deleted (AR Staff is overwhelmed lately), then delete every post and comment that you have made.  Change your profile picture to a silhoutte, change your name to "Account Closed", then change your contact information and email address.

Go to your profile and delete ALL the data. Some data can not be deleted but can be edited. So change that data so it no longer applies to you.

Update your image to reflect a graphic, OUT TO LUNCH or RETIRED or WENT BACK TO MY PREVIOUS JOB or ESCORTS IN NEW DELHI.

Then consider yourself gone.
