When copying and pasting we have stip the coding that transfers over. Then we need to reformat.
To strip the coding, select all, then click the symbol shown below.

I use old school HTML. Bare bones, no CSS or XHTML, but it works in ActiveRain (most of the time).
Below example is font family = verdana

What Kathleen Daniels said... but be warned, this does not always work and/or requires numerous attemts to clear the old formatting.

I type everything into Komposer, set the font and size the way I want it. Then I go to the source code and copy that and paste it into the source section of AR.
It's not as hard as it sounds. AT the bottom of Komposer, there is a button that says "source." Copy that and then when you go over to AR, just click on this symbol and you'll have the empty source code page to paste your blog.

I haven't changed the font as it's Arial. I do change color & size only. Had no problems recently.

Reading and learning. While I haven't published a post since December 2017, I previously wrote in GoogleDrive and then used copy/paste prior to scheduling or posting.

What Kathleen Daniels said. Also you can go into the code editor and delete things that may be causing AR confusion.

The editor has been very wonky lately. You type in a font, even add color, and public, it changes to whatever it wants.
3,164,294
if you want to enter the format you want you can do that in the html code section by pasting the source code.

Kate McQueen - just create your blogs using external HTML editor - like FREE Kompozer.

The only way is to clean your formating, check in preview before posting.

Let me know if you find out. Formatting is the most boring thing in here.

Best way I've found to clear formatting is to paste the entire text in notepad (not sure what Mac uses), then copy it from notepad and paste in the text editor.
An easy way to apply the same font to the entire text, is to wrap everything in a div and apply css to the div.
For example:
<div style="font-family:Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size:16px;">
YOUR POST GOES HERE
</div>
A note about fonts:
You can't simply apply any font to a post and expect it to show up on a person's computer. Fonts are local to each computer/device.
For example by having style="font-family:Ebrima;", it does not mean everybody will see Ebrima.
You should always enter more than one font, starting with you favorite, like: style="font-family:Arial, Verdana, sans-serif;". The browser will start with Arial, if it does not exist, will try Verdana, if it does not exist, then will try sans-serif.
It's a good idea to always end in sans-serif because all computers/devices have it.
There's an exception to the above, it's when the fonts are embeded in the html document, but you won't be able to do that in AR.
